Hi awesome Mods!

I have some requests for editing the Wheel of Time BR threads.

We ended up pushing back our dates a bit and moving the prequel up. Would y'all mind editing the next few books to show the following dates? Or should I put in a new request for these?

Prequel New Spring - 4/27/2022
#6 Lord of Chaos - 5/16/2022
#7 A Crown of Swords - 6/03/2022

It looks like Crown of Swords exists already, but is listed as #6, and I can't find the Lord of Chaos thread, though the spreadsheet says it was made.

Thank you very much for everything--and I bow to y'all's wisdom in only making 1-2 threads at a time. The threads that are still in holding would all be pushed two books back for now:

The Path of Daggers moves to 6/22
Winter's Heart moves to 7/11

Hello Mods--A bunch of us doing the Cradle BR just finished #7 Uncrowned and decided we couldn't wait until Aug 1 for #8 Wintersteel.

Would you mind changing the date for #8 to July 8 and making the thread earlier rather than later? Narilka put in a thread request for a July 8 date, but it's all one BR.

We may end up adjusting the dates of the later books as well, depending on how things go.

Hiya Mods! Was wondering if we could get the last several Wheel of Time books a date update? Choko & I are still powering through, and we've picked up a few more folk moving slowly. Elizabeth left us in the dust long ago and we wave at her when we reach her checkpoints...

Right now we're thinking Jan 1st for #12 The Gathering Storm, and probably Feb 1st for #13 The Towers of Midnight. Will keep y'all updated on when we get to the last one.

I realized I must have put the wrong title in when I put in the request form for this--would a Mod please change the title of this following thread from "A Time of Blood" to "A Time of Dread"?

I updated the thread link, Yanique will have to edit the comment... seems like a weird case where Time of Dread beats Time of Blood in the search results, because Blood also appears in the series name...

I amended the BR threads.
Next time, request new threads using the form with a note, so that they can be made/added the normal way. That way the spreadsheet can remain accurate (since it auto-populates from the form) and I'll just update the existing threads and the bookshelf then let you know.

For BRs so far away, especially if it hasn't been released yet, I think we should wait until closer to the actual date to make the threads/adjust them rather than adjusting the date multiple times throughout the year.
Poke me again in October, by then the date should be set in stone.

We should probably just append the Waybound title to release date TBD… the likelihood of it releasing this month is slim, from what Narilka said in the Random thread… but it’s also an indie-ish author that just drops books when they’re ready, so there will be very little notice…

My bad, for some reason I thought both release dates were towards the end of the year (my brain made that up?)

I've recently noticed that threads seem to be archived fairly quickly, within 3 or so weeks of the start date of the BR; is this an automated thing? Could it possibly be extended to something like 6 weeks? I think that seems a fair amount of time...

I know the audio peeps absolutely smash through books, but the peeps doing physical go at a slower pace. (With me being one of the slowest lol).

It is not automatic. I typically give every BR 2 weeks on the currently reading list and archive them after that. This is not to indicate that the BR can only be active during that time (since threads archived are still active and available for comments etc).
This is because there are a ton of reads going on at once and it is less cumbersome, overwhelming, and more accessible to keep the Currently Reading folder fresh with BRs more recently started.
If you use the thread for weeks or months then that's great, and it will continue to be available in the Archived folder.

Yea... Archived is purely for keeping the group sorted... it doesn't lock the threads like reddit or gaming forums... and it doesn't change the URLs in any way, so you can still use the same links to access...

Threads are archived basically as soon as they stop appearing in the Currently Reading section of the front page of the group (2-3 weeks, as Yanique said)...

I believe this has been the policy/strategy for a long time now... it's what Niki recommended when she brought us on as new mods... Yanique is just much more active day-to-day, so things happen on time... which was the whole point of adding new mods :D

We have much older threads active than 2-3 weeks... the Malazan threads are years old, and that new guy started talking with Julie in the old Golden Compass thread...

Oh right! Fair enough, that makes sense then, that it keeps the current BRs ordered! I thought archiving was purely for threads that were inactive, that's why I got confused..

Hi guys! Ok have favour to ask if I can. Looked like with all them BR I miscalculate time frames for series we started with few girls and boys. Any chance you can change schedule for books below please
Before they are hanged (the first law #2) - March 1
Last argument of kings (the first law #3) - March 17
Best served cold (the first law #4) - April 17
The heroes (the first law #5) - May 17
Red country (the first law #6) - June 17
The great hunt (WoT #2) - March 5
The Dragon reborn (WoT #3) - April 5
The shadow rising (WoT #4) - May 5
The fires of heaven (WoT #5) - June 5

We definitely scheduled alot of big tomes BRs this year...

I'll edit the spreadsheet data once Yanique starts editing the GR threads...
