2025 Reading Challenge discussion

Forgot to start this at the beginning of the year but I will hopefully keep updating as the year goes by.

Ok, so far this year I've read 6 books!

January I read:
- Date Me, Bryson Keller by Kevin van Whye
-When I am through with you by Stephanie Kuehn
-Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
-The Nowhere Girls by Amy Reed

February I read:
-Clap when you land by Elizabeth Acevedo
-The hidden oracle by Rick Riordan

I'm in the middle of 3 books right now.
- The picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
-The Dark Prophecy by Rick Riordan
-Aurora's End by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

Hopefully, I'll finish at least one of them by the end of March. Speaking of which my goal for 2022 is to read 15 books. My goal last year was 8 which I most definitely surpassed by reading 21 books so I increased my goal a bit. And if I manage to surpass that well then yay for me!

I straight up keep forgetting about this but its ok 😅. Um I finished Aurora's End and The Dark Prophecy. I also read The Paris Library and that ended up being my favorite book that I read in march. Now I'm reading Dress Codes for Small Towns and it seems pretty good so far. April is going to be a busy month for me so I hope I can find time to finish at least one book. Hello past me from march, I did manage to read at least 1 book. In fact I read 2! This month I read:

-Dress Codes for Small Towns: I thoroughly enjoyed it. Super great book for anyone looking for a main character that relates to questioning who you are vs you others want you to be and questioning your sexuality. I gave it 4.5 stars

-Burn: Loved the dragons in this. I'm a sucker for dragons 😅. I loved the characters and the relationships they all had with each other. Starts of slow and them speeds up before slowing down again which I enjoyed. Didn't see most of the plot twists so that was fun. Overall fun (Fantasy? Magical Realism?) book with DRAGONS!!!

God I'm just so bad at remembering to update this thread 😅. Ok so in May I read a LOT so lets rapid fire:

-The Field Guide to the North American Teenager 3.5 ⭐

-Red, White & Royal Blue 5⭐

-The Maidens 5 ⭐

-The Rest of Us Just Live Here 2.5⭐

In June I read:

-The Reading List 5 ⭐

-Fangs 3.5⭐

-Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch 5 ⭐ (so good pls read it and watch the show!!!)

Somewhere in these 2 months I actually reached my goal of reading 22 books!

In July I read;

-One Last Stop 5 ⭐

-Beach Read 5 ⭐


And so far I haven't finished any books in August, so hopefully I manage to finish at least one but I start college this month so I might just be too busy to read 😭. I hope everyone's reading challenge is going great this year!

I LOVED the Heartstopper books, they filled up my heart so wholesomely! What did you think of Clap When You Land in Feburary?

Hi! I am so sorry that I'm just replying now but I've been so busy and this is the first time I'm seeing this. It was quite good. The story was nice and interesting but I loved the writing style. I mean you could flip to practically any page and it was like a beautiful poem. I did find however that it was a little difficult to distinguish when a POV switch happened. I was a little disorienting reading in what you thought was one POV only to discover it was actually the other. Overall a pretty good book though 3/5 stars.

Ok so update time because, again, I forgot abt this thread 😅. Anyway here's what I've read so far:

August:
-Normal People 4 ⭐ Made me cry and gave me incredibly conflicting emotions. Kinda hated it but also liked it. Not everyone's cup of tea.

-Rebelwing 5⭐ Super fun sci-fi book with some politics. Wish we had more of the dragon mecha but I loved the character relationships anyway. Had a great time reading this and it made me cry at the end (but thats not a super hard accomplishment sometimes 😅)

September:
-Remarkably Bright Creatures 5⭐I adore this book. Found family with an octapus POV in the mix?! 10/10. Made me cry but also made me feel warm fuzzy feelings and happiness. Definitely a read had chilly beachside morning vibes. LOVED IT!

And so far in october I started No Gods, No Monsters but who knows if I'll actually finish it.

Hi ok so not too big of an update. Um I did not end up finishing No Gods, No Monsters not because it was bad, I just couldn't get into it at the time. The one book I read in October was The Magic Fish. It was amazing, I gave it 5 ⭐, super cute story about fairytales and a boy trying to figure out how to tell his Vietnamese family that he is queer. I loved it!

Unfortunately I was super busy studying for finals and the end of the semester so I did not read any books in November 😭. I've not finished a book in December yet but we'll see. I want to end the year off strong!

Update! So I finished The Bright Side Running Club and I absolutely enjoyed it. A definite 5 ⭐ for me. Super cute book that actually made me want to start running lmao. It made me cry but I think that is just a sign of a good book. Going to try and read another book but no telling if I will succeed.

Happy New Year, quick update for December! I managed to sneak in a last book before the year ended. I read The Awakening. 4.5 ⭐ i loved it so much and I'm so excited to continue the series!
