Dani | 44 comments Gosh, between the audio listens on my bike and this challenge this is going quicker than I ever expected!

The first six were:
The Hunger Games,
Catching Fire,
Mockingjay,
We Were Liars,
Brief Answers to the Big Questions and
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.

The authors are named on my Mt Wycheproof log.

Not sure what’s next, I should do some work before starting another book!

Dani | 44 comments 7: The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ, by Philip Pullman. Bought years and years ago on Kindle and finished it in a few hours when I finally opened it today. Really really happy with this mountaineering lark, brilliant !

Wow, I just checked the purchase date and it was October 2012! Good grief 🙈

Dani | 44 comments 8. 600 Hours of Edward, by Craig Lancaster.
This was an audiobook my wife chose a couple of years ago and I heard bits of, and wanted to listen to myself.

Dani | 44 comments 9. The Outcasts of Time, by Ian Mortimer. Another one I had caught large chunks of while my partner was listening to it on audio a few years ago, and had been meaning to read properly ever since. I had actually chosen this one myself in the first place, though. It didn’t disappoint.

I wonder what I will read next? I have started looking for new reads at the bottom of my audible library rather than at the top, and will try the same trick with my kindle 😊

Dani | 44 comments 10. Golden Boy, by Abigail Tarttelin. I bought this hardback second-hand years ago*, and am glad I finally read it.

*May 2014! That’s nearly eight years! I’ve been studying part-time since 2013 and am looking forward to finishing my Master’s within the next 12 months so I can make full use of my roomful of books, read and unread, and the beautiful velvet wing chair I was given for my 50th birthday 😊

Meanwhile I’ll do as Jenny Joseph and start practicing now😉

Dani | 44 comments 11. The Castle of Otranto, by Horace Walpole, finally, yay!!!! It’s been on my list of good intentions since the autumn of 1988 and on my Kindle since October 2012, so definitely one of the reads that’s been the longest time coming😅 Off the top of my head, I can only think of a couple of contenders to beat it, one being Die Unendliche Geschichte in hardback which I’ve had since about 1985 or 86 and never finished. Maybe this summer?!

Dani | 44 comments Wow, looks like I’ve scaled a second mountain 😃
12: The Color Purple, Alice Walker. Been meaning to reread this for two years at least, since one of my pupils at my last school chose it for her reading log.

It didn’t disappoint, and it was amazing to see keep seeing little snippets of knowledge or beliefs that are ‘mine’ - considering I first read it at about 16, there is a fair chance they came from this book to begin with.
