The Man in the Iron Mask - Week 8 - thru The Grotto

I just finished the chapter Belle-Isle-en-Mer (was not Thatcher the section of last week?),but this thread seems to go to the Grotto now, which I assumed would be this week’s thread. Or did you think of combining these as we have not been posting much lately?
Hedi wrote: "Sorry, “Thatcher” should have been “that” - I am not so fond of the autocorrect on my phone 😉"
I have the chapters thus:
Mar 13-19
The two boats
Council of friends
How Louis XIV played his role
The white horse and the black horse
Where the squirrel falls and the snake flies
Belle-Isle-En-Mer
Mar 20-26
Aramis' explanations
Outcome of the king's ideas and d'Artagnan's ideas
Porthos's ancestors
The son of Biscarrat
The grotto of Locmaria
The grotto
My copy has 2 chapters called The Grotto, they might be one for some of you. But Aramis' Explanations follows directly from Belle-Isle, then there are a few chapters showing how Aramis and Porthos get to the grotto.

Oops, if there are 2 threads marked week 7, that is MY problem. I will correct it. Thanks for noticing!

Sorry, to hear of your injury, Hedi, but glad you are still reading. I think there are only 2 weeks left!
**Correction - only 1 week! People can of course keep reading and post whenever they are ready.

Thanks, Robin.
I might have already said too much in the last thread, but here the explanations of Aramis to Porthos continue and finally open Porthos´s eyes about everything that happened and what kind of "crime" he has committed.
As a final of the series the original musketeers are once more showing their abilities. Their heroic reputation still exists among soldiers, and in this scene they have killed 10 opponents with just 2 discharges.
We are again in something of an action movie.

Thanks, Robin.

I think I commented in the previous thread and the next one. I must have gotten confused since I was so behind.
**Just a reminder to everyone that it's fine to read at you own pace and post on any section when you get to it. Also, thanks to those of you who have stuck through this journey. We only have a few weeks left.
In this section, we see the plans that Aramis has made to defend the island, to negotiate with the king's forces, and then to escape from the island. D'Artagnan of course tries to help them, but he is stymied. I actually found it rather farcical the way the officer kept pulling out new orders from the king addressing each strategy as d'Artagnan came up with them. We end with a dramatic scene of the two rebels holed up in a cave plotting to escape by boat and holding off a larger force of men. In a moment of foreshadowing, Porthos has an unexpected weakness which reminds him of his family's tradition.
