Reading the Chunksters discussion

This schedule splits the book into 18 roughly even parts (we had 16 for Our Mutual Friend and this one is slightly longer, but not so neatly divisible):

Week 1: Chapters 1 to 3 (Apr 17 to 23)
Week 2: Chapters 4 to 7 (Apr 24 to 30)
Week 3: Chapters 8 to 13 (May 1 to 6)
Week 4: Chapters 14 to 19 (May 8 to 14)
Week 5: Chapters 20 to 22 (May 15 to 21)

Week 6: Chapters 23 to 26 (May 22 to 28)
Week 7: Chapters 27 to 29 (May 29 to Jun 4)
Week 8: Chapters 30 to 31 (Jun 5 to 11)
Week 9: Chapters 32 to 35 (Jun 12 to 18)
Week 10: Chapters 36 to 39 (Jun 19 to 25)
Week 11: Chapters 40 to 42 (Jun 26 to Jul 2)
Week 12; Chapters 43 to 44 and
(Book 3) Chapters 45 to 46 (Jul 3 to 9)
Week 13: Chapters 47 to 49 (Jul 10 to 16)
Week 14: Chapters 50 to 53 (Jul 17 to 23)

I will probably try to read the whole book over a much shorter period at the start of the discussion, but will make notes to use as chapter summaries and help me remember, as that seemed to work quite well last time.

I got this from the library today and started reading. I can already tell I'm going to be a bit ahead of this schedule - it's so good already i don't want to put it down!! 😆

I am also planning to start early because I’m always behind the schedule especially with big books.

I started the audio version but don’t think I will fly through it (30+ hours) and should still be reading when the schedule starts mid month.

I have a few more books I'd like to finish before I start, so I may not be able to do the first few threads ahead of schedule, but once I get started I will try to read the whole thing in one go.

I’m planning to stick pretty closely to the schedule (thanks for this Hugh!) I have a physical book and the audio version so will swap between them.

Yep I'm going to read on schedule because otherwise these big books can't seem too daunting! Hugh if you just want to just set up the threads then we can start chatting and then you can join when you get there. 😊

I have now started reading the book, and if the first week's three chapters are typical, the summaries could get rather long, as what is important isn't always clear. We are due to start on Sunday but I could kick off week 1 earlier if the demand is there.
