The Manipulator

I can manipulate the emotions of anyone who lets me.

But my words don't affect him. Especially not when I plead for him to leave.

The Shadow

I didn't mean to fall in love.
But now that I have, I can't stay away.
I'm mesmerized by her smile, by her eyes, and the way she moves.
The way she undresses...
I'll keep watching and waiting. Until I can make her mine.
And once she is, I'll never let her go.
Not even when she begs me to.

Chapter 1
(view spoiler)[ I'm already loving this! As someone who was closer to their grandparents than their parents, I totally get Adeline and her frustration with her mother. And I would so totally live in that house. It sounds creepy but amazing. (hide spoiler)]

Hoping to start this myself either today or tomorrow!

I haven't gotten any further. It had an interesting start but I just noticed the novella at the end of the description and I wanted to read that real quick before going any farther. It's pretty trippy.

I have yet to start so don't even worry lol. I'll get to it this weekend for sure!

The carnival is coming back but I’m wondering if there will be any more significance and connection to Satan's Affair. I’m worried now she’s caught the eye of this total creeper Senator, she better not be trafficked in the end, I can’t handle another cliffy like that. And I am so into this background story with her great gma, this slow reveal with the letters is killing me but it sure is building up my curiosity. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 4
(view spoiler)[ I don't know that I would stay in that house, but I get why Addy wants to. I'm so glad Zade is in this one. I wasn't even sure if he was real after Satan's Affair. I really hope there are more chapters from his POV since it is mostly her so far. (hide spoiler)]

I've just started getting into this one at chapter 5 so I'll probably be done in the next couple days.

Chapter 5
(view spoiler)[ I get why her mother doesn't like the house. Some people just don't like creepy and especially when people have been died. It makes sense. But she's just so conceited. That would drive me crazy. I don't know that I could sleep in a room where someone was murdered even if it was my grandmother's room before me. (hide spoiler)]

For a normal person they're relationship is just a F'd up mess, but yet she's loving the thrill and danger just like him. But yeah her standing up to him is great, let's him know she's no wilting flower and perfect for him lol. But umm yeah she could be doing way worse for stalkers that's for sure. (hide spoiler)]

Is it common in these books for the mom to be mean? I read Neon Gods and the mom was mean in that one too.

10% in and I’m bored lol. I don’t usually do romance books but wanted to know what the hype was. I need it to get to it.

Chapter 2

Not really. I have read quite a bit of dark romance. Normally parents don't feature a lot in the stories at all.

okay i think im done ... i cant keep reading this. this is worse then Criminal Minds. Nope you messed up if you get aroused from this shit. I have zero desire to finish this book. Like i get dark fantasy romance this, this is torture. This is Joe from You but more fucked up. I can't read this.
