1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month? Yes, I finished 3 and caught up with a 4th.
Born in Shame (Born In Trilogy, #3) by Nora Roberts The Deepest of Secrets (Rockton, #7) by Kelley Armstrong Pause (Larsen Bros, #2) by Kylie Scott The Hiding Place (Mercy & Elvis Mysteries #3) by Paula Munier

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
Yes, 3. I will continue all.
Pieces of Her by Karin Slaughter The Truth About Lord Stoneville (Hellions of Halstead Hall #1) by Sabrina Jeffries Copper Beach by Jayne Ann Krentz

3. Did you move forward in any series? How many?
Yes, 6
Over the Edge (Troubleshooters #3) by Suzanne Brockmann Closing the Deal (Wicked Warrens, #2) by Marie Harte A Buccaneer At Heart (The Adventurers Quartet, #2) by Stephanie Laurens Deadly Cry (DI Kim Stone #13) by Angela Marsons When We Met (Fool's Gold, #13) by Susan Mallery Dancing With Danger (Goode Girls, #3) by Kerrigan Byrne

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
No 5 stars but some really good 4 stars. I might be a bit choosy when it comes to leaving 5 stars. The book truly has to be exceptional, one I did not want to end or would re-read in order to get 5 stars from me.

5. Overall summary of your reading month? I read 16 books and most were entertaining. I particularly enjoyed the 3 standalone books that I read
'Til Death Do Us Part by Amanda Quick The Outsider by Stephen King Yours Until Dawn by Teresa Medeiros

1. Did you complete and/or get up to date in any series this month?
I got up to date in two series:
The Thompsons of Locust Street by Holly Bush
Procedural Crime by Amanda Stevens

2. Did you start any new series? If so, what were they? Will you continue?
I started one series, Andrea Oliver by Karin Slaughter, and plan to continue it and the TV series.

3. Did you move forward in any series (that you didn’t complete or finish)? How many?
Yes, I moved forward in five series (one a reread via audio):
Troubleshooters by Suzanne Brockmann
Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley
Kate Burkholder by Linda Castillo
Tracy Crosswhite by Robert Dugoni
Lucy Kincaid by Allison Brennan

4. Any standout or 5 star books read? Why did you love it/them?
I had three 5-star stories that I loved. Over the Edge was even better the second time around and on audio. The Summer Getaway hooked me early and never let go. Reminders of Him was as heartbreaking as I thought it would be but was surprised at the great themes.

5. Overall summary of your reading month?
I enjoyed everything except being disappointed by Rock Chick Renegade, which was a rinse and repeat of the previous two books. Other than that, I was pleased with my listening/reading experiences.
Over the Edge (Troubleshooters, #3) by Suzanne Brockmann The Summer Getaway by Susan Mallery Reminders of Him by Colleen Hoover

Glad you had such a good month. Jonetta. I really do not think that the Rock Chick series is the best reflection of KA's writing. The Dream Man and Colorado Mountain series are so much better.

That's great Robin!
The Finlay Donovan series looks interesting. I'm going to see if my library has it.

I have loved the Colorado Mountain series, 6 books in so I know I gets better. Rock Chick is her flagship and I’d heard good things about it so was unprepared for the disappointment.

You had a wonderful month, too, Robin! I’m so jealous that you’re up to date in Finlay Donovan. Still desperately trying to squeeze it in and now you’ve rated the second book 5 stars!

Robin (robinmy) | 3473 comments Lauren & Jonetta - I hope you both like Finlay Donovan. Those books are fun and just make me laugh. Finlay and her sidekick Vero are like Lucy & Ethel.

I am so glad I read the other series first. If I had started with Rock Chick, I would not have tried any of her others and I would have missed out.

Anytime! :)

I also started her The Three series. It's paranormal so not her usual style but I enjoyed the first book. I'm looking forward to continuing.

Melissa, did you enjoy what you read?

I keep thinking I’ll start the Grafton series someday. I’ll be interested in seeing what you think.
