When a child is murdered at a Hallowe'en party, author Ariadne Oliver asks her old friend Hercule Poirot to investigate.
While I enjoy Agatha Christie, I haven't always been a huge fan of Poirot; I often find him annoying. However, this is my first time reading one of the books where he's an older man. I found I enjoyed the character rather more; he's a little more bitter, a little more world-weary. It was a typical Christie mystery, but a quick, easy read.
