One Point Tasks
1.1 BOX OF CRAYONS
May's Colors: ROBIN EGG BLUE & CAMEL
Read a book with a cover predominantly BLUE or BROWN (50+%) show cover.
1.2 MAY FLOWERS
• Pick your flower
Read a book whose Author's initials (FIRST & LAST) are in your flower name. (List Flower)
1.3 (Amber's Task ) CHILDREN CLASSIC: The Boxcar Children
Choose ONE of the following:
This was one of my favorite books and I went on to read the series. Originally published in 1924, the book is about 4 siblings who have lost their parents. Rather than be separated they create a home out of an abandoned boxcar and whatever items they could find or were given. They did small odd jobs to earn money for things like milk.
a) Read a book where someone creates something (tell us what)
I read it repeatedly while in early Elementary school. I had a friend in my neighborhood who had a plastic kitchen set in her backyard next to a small creek. We would play like we were the Boxcar Children. We would make mudpies and wash the dishes in the creek. Those are some of my fondest childhood memories.
b) Read a book with a kitchen or dishes on the cover (show cover)
BONUS POINT: Read a book from the Boxcar Children series.
⭐⭐ Reminder: All books must be 100+ pp.
1.4 BUZZWORD
May's Buzzword is LIGHT
Read a book with a source of Light in title.
e.g. candle, lighting, fire, the Sun .. etc. -OR- use the word LIGHT in the title.
1.5 (Tessa's Task) MC FISH MARKET
Our "SPECIAL" of the month is SHRIMP
Read ONE book from the following choices
a) A title word which is a synonym for "shrimp" (e.g. small, tiny, short)
b) A book with a predominantly Pink cover (at least 51%)
c) A book whose title begins with a letter in: SHRIMP (ignore: A, An, The)
BONUS POINT: You can choose a second helping of Shrimp.
1.6 READING THROUGH THE ALPHABET: LETTER U
Read a book that starts with the Letter U (exclude A,An, or The)
1.7 (Pat's Task) NATIONAL ASPARAGUS MONTH

1.8 MPG (Main Page Genre)
Read a book with the genre MIDDLE GRADE listed on its Main Page.
1.9 (Amber's task) The Reading Jar: IN HONOR OF MY MOM
I got my love of reading from my Mom. She always read to me until I learned to read myself. Growing up I always remember any time she was able to sit for a minute she had a book in her hand.
In honor of her:
Read a book from one of her current favorite authors, PHILIPPA GREGORY or HARLAN COBEN -OR- a book whose title starts with one of their initials (exclude A, An, & The)
