Excellent idea--I love the discussion title!

If you're after some 'Non-Meg' titles...
Fathomless - Greig Beck
Hotel Megalodon - Rick Chesler
There's a graphic novel called Hook Jaw by Simon Spurrier
And of course there's the old classic, Peter Benchley's Jaws ;)
I also own but have not yet read the following, so can't vouch if they're good or bad ;)
Shark Island and Shark Beach - both by Chris Jameson
Megalodon and Megalodons - both by Eric S Brown
Thresher - Michael Cole
Happy munching, and may bits of the unlucky swimmer never stick in your teeth!
Hi Andy, thanks for the suggestions! Fathomless by Greig Beck is on my want-to-read list, but I am so overbooked at the moment, I never quite know when to read it… Thresher by Michael R. Cole sounds familiar as well, I‘ll have to take another looks.
I see you‘re reading a creature feature right now that could be right down my alley! I am not into slasher books though and some of the reviews are not promising…
I started a discussion post for those want-to-read books, feel free to head over there and add stuff!

Heartily agree with you with slasher books, I read the occasional one but much prefer a nice scary giant creature (or swarm of creatures).

I'm going to have to look in to Hook Jaw Volume 1.
So glad Andy is aboard!
Kathryn & Ami as well!

'Trouble at Camp Still Waters' I thought was going to be a creature feature. It has a rather large snake gliding through water towards some feet dangling off a jetty on the cover. It mentions 'enormous snake-fish, huge crabs, massive spiders and terrifying cryptids' on the back cover ... however I've read about 2/3 of the book now and it's mostly about the serial killer character haunting said camp Jason Voorhees style. There's been mention of a baby giant crab and a tentacle in a crevice, that's it. Not what I was expecting...
National Geographic & Disney have announced when SharkFest will air this year! (SharkFest mimics Shark Week but it's a month long and is supposedly more educational.) This is the tenth anniversary of the summer series.
It starts July 10, 2022, and runs for four weeks.

I hope it will be on the German version of Disney+ too (we do not always get the same stuff and/or at the same time, see Netflix and Prime too).

Currently reading Zombie Sharks with Metal Teeth and was surprised to see that it's a short-story collection, not a novel as I was led to expect. It's good but still waiting to spot a zombie shark with metal teeth!

I wanted to read it but several people have commented on the writing style so I never did.

I read it and liked it. The second half better than the first apparently. But I don't really remember at this point if it had anything to do with the writing.

Just had a look, apparently Shark Week 2023 begins on Tuesday, July 11th, and ends on Tuesday, July 18th.

News we can use!

Didn‘t work though even with taking out the gaps, the rest of the link was missing… here is the trailer I just watched, looks like fun:

👍 The movie could always be worse than the book, but I doubt it. 😂 I will watch it, when it comes to a streaming service near me…

Thanks, Cathy! If anybody has new ideas for what to read this year, drop 'em over at https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/....
Then I can make polls for a couple rounds of voting.

My German streaming service has all of the Jaws movies right now. I watched Jaws recently and this week I watched Jaws II and I‘m in the middle of Jaws III.
I am pretty sure I read Jaws I and II at some point.
