Nalani plopped down on her bed. She looked around at her sketchbooks, notebooks, and normal books, before finally deciding to hail her best friend, Hailey. If she was going to get such a chance as not being grounded for this week, she needed to celebrate.
Her parents were out on a trip visiting some of their council friends and having important meetings. They’d be gone there for a week and possible gone in total for longer, depending on how big of an assignment they got and what the assignment was about.
This rarely happened to Nalani so she decided to hang with friends outside of school as much as possible.
