Ellen | 3511 comments Ten guests arrive at the beautiful Mitchell's Inn located in the scenic Catskills. The snow-covered property offers many opportunities for a fun-filled vacation of winter sports, or a cozy retreat from the outside world in the charming hotel. Along with the two men who run the inn, they are all soon closed off from the rest of civilization as a sudden blizzard and ice storm hits the area. The inn loses electricity and the only illumination now comes from fireplaces and quickly depleting cell phones. There is no wi-fi, no phone line, no communication with the outside world; but what they do have is a murderer in their midst. Before the end of what was to be an idyllic weekend, five people will be dead.

This is a fairly good locked-room mystery with some interesting characters and a wonderful setting. It's a quick read and, no, I didn't figure out who the killer was until the reveal.

Peacejanz | 1015 comments Well, I will try it. Thanks for the review. I like Sheri Lapena and this is the first review I have read of the book. I almost said, she is copying Agatha Christie, but you noted that there is some difference. Thanks for the review. peace, janz

Ellen | 3511 comments You are right, Janz. I didn't see the correlation until you mentioned it. "And Then There Were None" is a great example of this type of book.
