Ethan tells Garrett they can’t see each other again but they end up spending more time together…a training session, a Saturday evening at a street fair… and it leads to them spending the night together. Given that Garrett was a virgin, why now and why this man?

Ethan is dark and mysterious. He obviously cares for Garrett because he has followed her to protect her. Garrett had decided that love and romance were not for her because of her career. She wanted to know what it was like.

These two were attracted to each other from their first encounter two years ago. It intensified with each meeting and that self defense session turned erotic! Plus, here was a man that appreciated her independence and respected her skills as a doctor. She was ready for the right man and he was it.

Garret loved being a doctor. If she married, her husband would probably demand that she give up her profession and stay at home. She certainly wasn't interested in that. She was attracted to Ethan and he was attracted to her. I think she was willing to give her virginity to Ethan because she wasn't going to need it for her husband.

I agree. There was a physical attraction from their first meeting. Garrett didn't expect anything permanent; Ethan made that clear. She had no intention of submitting to a husband's wishes, but she wanted a sexual experience with someone she respected and found attractive.
