25.3 - MAZZA1's task: Well Hello Number 9

In April we welcomed our newest Grandson to the family, although not without a little caution as, eager to meet us all he came into the world 13 weeks early and weighing only 1Kg. However now he is home and thriving although he may have hearing and visual problems

This is a 2 book task read one book for 2 different options.
Your total page count must be at least 501 pages. No books with a Children's genre are allowed.

Option 1
As he arrived early Mum and Dad were not ready with names for him and so for at least a month he was affectionately known as Number 9 (our 9th grandchild).

Read a book that has a number 9 in its series number- whole numbers only- ex. #9, #19, #29. The series number must show in greyscale in the Goodreads record.

Option 2
Eventually he did get the most beautiful name - Louis Paul Michael but a little part of me still uses his birth pseudonym of Number 9.
Read a book by an author who uses a pseudonym. Your book may be written under any of the pseudonyms (or the real name) used by the author.
Required: If the pseudonym is not evident on the GR author page or GR metadata for your book, provide a reference link.

Option 3
I couldn’t write this task without mentioning Louis’ big sister 16 year old Avelyn, who stayed calm and made sure her mum got the help she needed and also looked after her younger siblings protecting them from what was going on. I am so proud of her. In honour of Avelyn:

Read a book which contains the word “TEEN” intact in its title or subtitle
e.g. Ghost in the Canteen I Am, I Am, I Am: Seventeen Brushes with Death, The Velveteen Daughter

Jen B (jennybee618) | 885 comments Just to be clear, can the pseudonym be two authors who write under a single name (like Christina Lauren or Liv Constantine), or does it have to be a single author who also writes under a different name? Thanks!

Fox Creek has records on GR showing both as book 18, and book 19. I'd like to use this book, but would like confirmation that it would work. Thanks.

Mod note

Cork O'Connor (#18) is the series number used for SRC tasks

Deborah | 1667 comments Can I use Stephen King since he used to write under Richard Bachman for option 2?

yes Stephen king works remember to provide a link to where his pseudonym is proved - I suspect this will be on the Richard Bachman author info

Robin P | 1609 comments Just confirming Cetaganda works since GR lists it in grayscale as "Vorkosigan Saga Publication order #9." There is a different order that the author recommends if you want to go in chronological order of the characters.

I believe SRC goes by what is in Greyscale on the book record but I will ask Dimrose to confirm

Correct, use the series name and number indicated in the GR title listing in grayscale parentheses following the title (old format) or grayscale italics above the title (new format)

Trish (trishhartuk) | 3675 comments Morning.

I was thinking of using a book by Laura Alden, who also publishes as Laurie Cass. Unfortunately, the specific GR author information is sparse for both.

However, the link is made on Fantastic Fiction: https://www.fantasticfiction.com/c/la...

She's the featured author in the Cozy Mysteries group in October, and the author discussion clearly names both (although I don't know if you need to be a member of the group to see the disussion):
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Are those sufficient references to establish pseudonymity?

I would say the fantastic fiction link provides enough info but I can get onto the other page so if you feel better using both references you could do.
Just remember to put the info with your completed post and you are good to go
