A Jane Austen Encounter because it looks to be a "Christian" type of book, which is not a genre I usually go for.
I have to read a book by an Idaho author for another challenge and chose this because Jane.

LOL, hope your big chance read works out for you Cindy. Way to go to get it to match two different challenges.

Thanks Sam! Good to have a 'pair of dice' for players if they don't have any. :)

My choice is number 4 The Widow Elizabeth: A Pride and Prejudice Variation. I can’t remember anything about it and I read it before I started keeping notes on the books I read so it should be fun

I love your re-read theme idea, Craftyhj. Hope you enjoy as it comes back to you.

I rather hoped the dice would give me 3 or 5. Maybe I shall read them after the one selected

My name is Kirk and I love the Holidays w Jane gang soooo much!! Loved loved my reread and looking forward to rereading Thankful Hearts in Nov and Christmas 🎄 Cheer in Dec!! Thanks for this challenge 🙂
Haha, a confession with your challenge. Glad the revisit was superb and you have a nice holiday line up for the rest of fall. I'm hoping to fit in Thankful Hearts at some point. I still have that one and the Valentine one to read for the first time.

3.5* - An enjoyable story which was a little ruined for me by a rather unnecessary scene near the end which only semed to be there to include a little action. This is a story about a slow coming together and for me there was no need for the action to move ODC forward.
Yay for finishing already, Craftyhj!
Bummer there was that odd scene tossed in that didn't go with the rhythm and tone of the story.

Discovering Mr. Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Novella https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... 3 stars. and
To Refuse Such a Man https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... 3 stars.
coincidentally both were novellas and so felt too short. May be I should roll my dice again.
LOL, I think it is funny when shorter books have the longest names. :)
Yay, glad you got through two and are keeping the dice rolling for a third, abmom!

Friends and Enemies: A Pride and Prejudice Variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... 4 stars.
and
Mr. Darcy and Mrs. Fitzwilliam: a Pride and Prejudice variation https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5... 4 stars.
These were definitely more satisfying than the first two and now I'm thinking why leave the other two. Poor dears. May be I'll finish them too. Will update later.

Didn't get much reading done this week, was traveling for a few days in Dubai!

Very, very clean and almost no crime-for obvious reasons.
I've had two of my friends live their for temporary work assignments and they both had similar remarks. It always looks amazing in the pictures.

First, you must create your Game of Chance list and post it here to show you're playing.
For this part of the game, make a list of the books you want to consider reading for October and number them. Any release date, any acquired date, any length, any genre, and any medium from unpublished to audio is welcome. Your list can be thematic or random. Your list must be six books to match the six dots on your game die or twelve books if you're rolling two dice.
Second, once your Game of Chance list is finished, you roll the die/dice. Whatever number comes up, check the number on your list and that is the book you read for October. Leave a commend for what your read will be for the month.
Now, if you wish to double down and make your Game of Chance more difficult, you can do a second roll for a second read. You can even do the second roll with a fresh list if you want to go that way about it.
When you've finished reading, come back and tell us what you thought of your Game of Chance book/s.
