Todd Hey guys, just finished reading this awesome book. Would like to hear of what others thought about it?

Papaphilly I really loved both this book and The Regulators. I loved the concept of using the same characters in different roles. It is almost like an ensemble cast.

Kate I can't remember which one I read first, but I approached the second as a sequel or prequel, and it really, really bothered me when I discovered that it was some type of weird companion novel with the same names but different characters. It really affected my enjoyment of these stories, but I didn't care for them much overall, anyway. These are two of only very few Stephen King books (also Gerald's Game and The Tommyknockers) that I've only read once.

Ciprian Panait The first 150 pages are really dry. Wanted to quit a few times. But then it gains momentum. It is a great book.

MaryAlice It grabbed my attention right away, could not stop reading. Then it became boring in parts, things took too long to happen; I became impatient wanting to know how it would end.

I may have liked it better if about 200 pages were edited out of it.

There were two (or three) pages where Johnny was remembering a car accident in the Party Mobile. I begin wondering what all those new characters have to do with the story. (It was included, I learned later, to show he had total recall of traumatic events when the others lose memory of them.)

I summed that up in one sentence, which King might have been able to do in two or three sentences rather than pages long paragraphs.

There were other parts like that; also repetitions; I guess in a novel that size, repeating information is a good thing.

Authors are supposed to present a problem at the start of the novel, resolve same at the end. I do not know if God is cruel or if God is love. The end shows it is the later, but the novel did not show me that.

Shelby Read it twice. One of SK's underrated ones. won't ruin anything for u. Check it out.
