Yes, he deserved the pardon. His country deserted him and he did what he needed to do to survive. He suffered agonizing physical and psychological torture, and tried to be a good person despite the circumstances.


Rather than court martial Grady for surviving they should have given him a path back to home. He more than redeemed himself and merited that pardon.
