As I mention in my mountain topic, every year I plan to read only from my own stacks in an effort to get my owned TBR piles under control. And every year I get distracted by library books that I've always wanted to read or a book that a friend tells me is fantastic. So--I'm going to reward myself with a mountain climb and hope that I don't get too distracted from Mount Everest over in the Mount TBR Challenge...Although, being a Star Trek fan, it would be nice to reach Mount Seleya just once.

Please take a moment to introduce yourself to the group.

Thanks, Kim! So glad you're going to join me in the challenge!

Lynn (larainey) | 152 comments Hey Bev, I'm back for another around! I'm going for 60 to start with.

Liander (The Towering Pile) Lavoie (liannelavoie) | 42 comments Back again! It's been nice getting to count all those non-Mount TBR books for something! I think I started with Stormness Head and then went up from there last time so I'll probably do the same for 2023.

I'm always aiming to shrink my get-from-library shelf and my list on the public library website, but I never manage to succeed in either of those lol.

Karen | 61 comments Joining again for the 4th (I think) time. I like library books and Narnia so 60 books is my target again.

I wish you all good library and other unowned reads throughout 2023.

message 6: by Natália (new)

Natália Lopes (silkcaramel) | 16 comments Another year I'll climb from the first mountain. While I'll try to focus on my TBR books, I know those shiny new releases and books I wasn't planning on read BUT a friend/favorite blogger will convince me I must will call out to me during the year. So, here I am again!

message 7: by Pamela (new)

Pamela | 35 comments I'm back for the virtual climb again. I have a huge list of books I want to read, but don't own and can find many at the library. Likely my focus will be with audio books. My aim is starting small, so hopefully I will focus more on my owned book.

Happy reading everyone!

message 8: by Kerstin (new)

Kerstin (kerstinwoerterkatze) I love both of my libraries. Even if I have enough books in my TBR pile myself, I like to borrow books. Because some you just don't have to own. So I want to participate here this year and starting with twelve books And Rum Doodle. I then slowly climb up.

Thereadingbell | 18 comments I joined last time and never introduced myself to the group. I plan to do the 150 again but this year I am going to focus on the oldest books on my tbr. I hope I do not add that same amount back in new books I want to read. So many books so little time.

Welcome back! So glad you're joining us again. I have the same problem--adding a new mountain for every one I get climbed...

message 16: by Emily (new)

Emily | 1 comments First time participating in this climb…. I will start with the smallest Mountain and see how I do. I borrow most of my books from my library but do love a sale on books when I find one. I may try to do both Mount challenges in 2023. We shall see!!

Hi Bev!! Me too!! this last year, I got too many library books, but I did manage to get to the top of Mount Blanc with my own books. But, since i'm easily distracted by shiny things (aka new and interesting books that I'm trying so hard not to buy) I'm also going to join the Virtual Mount challenge this year. :) Last year, I almost doubled my reading just by getting too many library books. Just think how far up the mountains I could have climbed if I had stuck to books I already own. lol :) Happy climbing this year!

Sheri | 11 comments Hi! I'm Sheri. I did this challenge two years ago, and now I'm back. I am going for the smallest mountain on this virtual challenge so as to get some books off my Kindle Unlimited wishlist. Meanwhile I will also be climbing a modest mountain in the owned TBR challenge. So wish me luck, and happy reading to all!

message 20: by Sheila (new)

Sheila Howes Hi - I'm Sheila and I'm a..... bookaholic?????!

I now literally live a 10 minute walk away from my local library - I'm hoping it will mean I buy less books, but we shall see!

I'm heading up White Plume this year - see you on the way up.

Steven (wyldemusick) | 52 comments It’s me again, clumping my way up the heights with a backpack of books (actually an iPad, a phone, and a Kindle Voyage.) Tally and Ho and pip pip!

Susan | 16 comments Hi folks! In the past couple years, I’ve rediscovered the library, so this challenge is a great fit. I’m going to shoot for White Plume Mountain this year.

message 27: by Vampenilla Rose (new)

Vampenilla Rose | 12 comments Hi i took part in 2018 as Honeysuckle Rose. My name now is Vampenilla Rose. I just realized i have made an error That these should be all un-owned books. And started a combined list

K.U.
Prime Reading
Free to download
Purchased Ebooks
Purchased Physical books

I apologize for my mistake. Is there a TBR Climb where you can do all that i should transfer to? Or should i edit current list as ku pr free etc.? I wish to be fair. Again my apologies.
