20 - A Book Becoming a Show in 2023

I'm debating between that one and Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI .

I think that is planned for Spring 2023, no specific date yet

I also recently saw an advertisement for Three Pines on I think Amazon Prime. That will be based on Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series.
I have no idea how the adaptations will be but those are literally Top Two authors for me.

Oh, that would mean that I can slot in the next book in the series, right?
EDIT: Shoot Three Pines started in 2022 as a TV series per IMBD

oh WOW did not know about that!! I hope they do justice to it. I'm a little scared. Netflix has a bad track record of canceling shows, and this one needs to be multiple seasons to really tell the full story.

Still no idea what I'll read

that is an excellent list, thank you!!
the downside to reading a lot of books is that I've already read most of the books I'm interested in on that list! there are a few I haven't read, and all I need is ONE, so I can manage ...

This is perfect, thanks!
I see that 'Dracula' is on there. That's great. It's a book I've been meaning to read.

I'm having a bit of a hard time finding info on adaptations, tbh

Ah yess! OK, I'm so going with this!

Apparently Wool is being adapted. Been meaning to read that.

There's a few good options for this one, but i'll wait for my options to come out before comitting cause everytime there's a simliar prompt i always end up with something thats pushed back hehe

I haven't seen a release date for the new season yet, but I've heard that it is supposed to come out this year.

I didn't realize it was coming out that soon! I'm excited. (I knew it was releasing this year and that they'd wrapped on filming but wasn't 100% sure on release date.)

If you would prefer an audiobook, I listened to an excellent free recording found on YouTube for another group last fall. Great narrator and highly recommend for anyone interested.

Good one. It's been a while since I read it but I remember enjoying it.

I didn't realize it was a film now, though it makes sense, it's an amazing book. I also read it about 20+ years ago and it really got to me.

I just finished watching that! I went in not knowing anything about it and thought it was pretty good. I'm thinking about reading the books to see how they compare.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review

Harold and the Purple Crayon

This forms part of a BBC series called The Read , each episode of which is a performance rather than a straight reading of one of four novels. The episode with this particular book was broadcast on 2nd April 2023, performed by the actor Liv Hill. Unfortunately (and certainly not Ms Hill's fault), I nodded off at a crucial point, so I thought I would get the book.
It's a tragi-comedy set in early 60s London, just before it started to Swing - the story of a teenage shop girl who becomes involved in the world of glamour (or not) modelling. It does an excellent job of showing the limited choices open to uneducated women and is a brilliant evocation of the period.
