Great Middle Grade Reads discussion

I'm delighted to welcome Jennifer as our new Moderator, and hope you will too!

Jennifer has been very active within the Book of the Month discussions, as well as other sections, so I think she'll be ideal to take over the Nominations and discussion in the new year. Of course, she's being bashful at present :)

Rebecca Douglass has stepped down from Moderating, but strangely, Goodreads won't allow her to leave as it thinks she's the Group's creator. This is strange, since SW is the Group's creator, and they have allowed him to leave in the past! I think it's good to leave them in as ghost moderators in a way, as their experience is valuable, and if anything goes wrong, I'm sure they'll be willing to give an opinion privately.

So, more thanks to them for their work in the past.

And while I'm thanking people, thank you to CJ and Sarakat, both of whom have had lots of changes in their lives in the last year, and have done as much as they could to keep the group running smoothly. We'd be lost without you.

Hi everybody!

As you can probably tell from my BOTM posts and my...umm...extensive (lol) A-Z book list, I read a LOT of books each year. I discovered this group sometime around February of this year, and have loved the many new books I have discovered here.

This will be my first time as a group moderator, but I do have experience trying to herd cats so, hopefully, this will be easier. So that I don't repeat BOTM nomination themes, I'm making sure to familiarize myself with the ones from at least the last 2-3 years, but if you have any suggestions on themes you'd like to see in the future, please let me know.

Also, I will admit up front that I am EXTREMELY introverted (almost all of my friends live in my computer), but I definitely find it easier to interact in this semi-anonymous manner. If you have any questions for me, please ask, and I will do my best to answer them.

Thanks for stepping up, Jennifer. I’d also like to thank Rebecca for giving her time all these years. And also Jemima, Sarakat and CJ, thank you all so much for keeping things ticking along all year round.

Welcome, Jennifer! And thanks for taking on the role. The GMGR group will definitely benefit from your passion for this genre (and books, in general).
