In the last two months of 2023 we will be reading literature from Switzerland.

Titles for all three categories (classic, contemporary and short story/essay) can be nominated in this thread.

Feel free to discuss availability here as well, i.e. let us know beforehand if a nominated title is unavailable for you before we put up the polls. The polls will be set up in the middle of October.

I would already like to start nominating titles from Switzerland such as Friedrich Dürrenmatt's The Judge and His Hangman, Suspicion or The Pledge for the category of classic literature.

For contemporary literature I would like to suggest Fleur Jaeggy's novels Sweet Days of Discipline or The Water Statues.

For those who would like to read quite a short novella and a Swiss classic at the same time could go for one of Robert Walser's shorter works such as The Walk and Other Stories.
