edit: Well, I made Baroness!
18/70 books

1. A Brief History of Montmaray by Michelle Cooper (orig. shelved 2015)
2. Sarah's Key by Tatiana de Rosnay (orig. shelved 2015): swearing, marital infidelity (nothing described), but included a surprising pro-life theme.
3. The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt (orig. shelved 2016): many mentions of sexual immorality including moderate descriptions.
4. Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech (orig. shelved 2016)
5. The Little White Horse by Elizabeth Goudge (orig. shelved 2015): no content issues, but a bit dumb.
6. On the Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta (orig. shelved 2016): a couple implied or vague sex scenes. Redemptive and true-to-life, so a good book for adult readers.
7. The Orphan Master's Son by Adam Johnson (orig. shelved 2013): Stunning novel (and winner of the Pulitzer Prize) set in North Korea. Unfortunately, sexual content every so often throughout.
8. Franny and Zooey by J.D. Salinger (orig. shelved 2015): quite a bit of swearing, but no f-bombs.
9. Rocket Boys by Homer Hickam (orig. shelved 2013): some swearing, teen sex (vaguely described).
10. A Fort of Nine Towers: An Afghan Family Story by Qais Akbar Omar (orig. shelved 2014): autobiography with some graphic violence due to war/torture
11. Earth Abides by George Stewart (orig. shelved 2016): surprisingly Godless philosophy
12. Laurus by Eugene Vodolazkin (orig. shelved 2016): 4 stars.
13. Tolkien And The Great War: The Threshold of Middle-earth by John Garth (orig. shelved 2013): 5 stars. A moving overview of how some of Tolkien's early friendships and WWI contributed to his mythology.
14. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov (orig. shelved 2016): 4 stars. An intelligent, entertaining, and skillfully written satire of early-Soviet life originally written in 1940, but not published until 1966. Unfortunately, an extra marital affair features prominently although no sex is described. Theology is also satirized, so it shouldn't be read at face value.
15. The House of the Wolfings by William Morris (orig. shelved 2013): One of the earliest fantasy novels.
16. Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy by John le Carré (orig. shelved 2014): Difficult to follow. No sex scenes but semi-frequent references to various immoral relationships. Based on the movie's rave reception, I was surprised by how underwhelmed I was by this book.
17. City of Thieves by David Benioff (orig. shelved 2016): Great writing, setting, characters, and plot, but unfortunate content. Frequent sexual anatomical references and talk. Don't recommend.
18. The Disappearing Spoon: And Other True Tales of Madness, Love, and the History of the World from the Periodic Table of the Elements by Sam Kean (orig. shelved 2015): Evolution is assumed proven, rather than theory, throughout. Otherwise, a fascinating science history for the layperson.
