Sheri | 11 comments I hope I can make it up this mountain, as there are lots of books on my already owned TBR pile clamoring for attention, also. But I have a long wishlist for books available on Kindle Unlimited, and I want to reduce that, too. So this year I am working on both challenges.

Sheri | 11 comments 1. Chasing Fireflies Charles Martin Wow! There might be a thing or two that wasn't wrapped up quite as much as one could wish, but I think that was because the author had finished saying what he felt was important about the story. Good writing and good charactarization kept my interest high. Some difficult themes were present, but themes of second chances and forgiveness were strong. I will not just plow through Martin's backlist because the book was intense, and I feel I need to space them out a bit, but I will most definitely be reading more of his works.

Sheri | 11 comments 2. Artificial Condition Martha Wells Some regrettable language, but I think most introverts can identify somewhat with this accidently lovable antisocial bot.

4. Exit Strategy Martha Wells
Can you tell I am enjoying this series?

Sheri | 11 comments 5. The Chase Bradley Caffee
I read this with a book club. I did not expect to like it as much as I did, since it involved an athletic competition and I'm not very sports-oriented. It is also dystopian. But it was well written and engaging, with some predictable elements but also some things that were unexpected. I will probably continue the series.

Sheri | 11 comments 6. The Choice Bradley Caffee And I did continue! This and the final book in the series seemed to start a little slowly, but they soon picked up the pace.

7. The Change Bradley Caffee This final entry was particularly intense, once it got going. A good series.

8. Network Effect Martha Wells
This was longer than the others, but the pace never lagged. And now the next book in the series is available on Kindle Unlimited!

Sheri | 11 comments 9.Silent Nights: Christmas Mysteries Martin Edwards Summer Christmas! I had read several of these stories, even the lesser known ones, before--I have several collections of Christmas mystery short stories.
10. Fugitive Telemetry Martha Wells And now we are all waiting for the next one...

Sheri | 11 comments 11. Carbon-14: The Shroud of Turin R.A. Williams The writing wasn't all that, but some of the theories about how the Shroud could be authentic but still show a more recent carbon date were interesting. Still, I may read the other I already have in the series but I won't be reading the rest or making it a priority.
12. A Tincture of Murder Donna Fletcher Crow I own the first three volumes and borrowed this and the next. I think this was my favorite of the five. And I've reached the top of Rum Doodle!
