Robin’s father sends back his RSVP to their wedding, declining and adding a disturbing response. Did you understand his point of view or was he deliberately meaning to be hurtful? Why?

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments Robin's father is a total homophobic jerk and a hypocrite. Family values? Seriously? From the serial womanizer and cheat? I don't think so!

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments Robin's father is a big hypocrite. I will never understand this type of response from a parent, but it happens all the time.

I don't know if I shared this in the past. We were discussing a family member who was struggling because her son was having a difficult time in HS because he was gay. When she left my other friend said "He would throw his son out of the house, and have nothing to do with him again if he was gay." I thought he was joking because I never felt he was homophobic, and he loves his son so much. He always brags about him. When i called him out, he became almost hostile with me. "Don't tell me what I would do. I couldn't love him if he were gay." Where does that come from?

Sharon, I’ll never understand that kind of attitude toward your own child. But, I’ve always figured something else was going on, maybe his own deep-rooted issues. Staying in denial is just easier.

Robin’s “father” has always been a loser when it comes to his children. He’s never been there for Robin and should have been grateful to get an invitation. Why he would want to deliberately hurt Robin is a mystery but in complete character. Now Robin can certainly turn his back and face forward to his real family.

Wow! Parents are supposed to love their children unconditionally. It's a twisted mindset, but some people are unable to put aside their fear, prejudice and hatred even when it comes to someone they supposedly love. Any parent who does this does not love their child for who they really are.

Robin's father was never there for him...why should his wedding be any different? Total hypocrite and undeserving of a son like Robin.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments He will be there with his out when he needs money. That happens so often.
