I completely agree, Sam. I loved this book. The blurb makes it sound like it's a "supernatural haunted videotape" kind of story, which is completely off the mark. Luckily, I also like supernatural haunted video tape kind of books, or I likely never would have read it.
Devil House suffers a little as well from the same problem.
