Holy Oaks Sheriff Lloyd is a disgrace and his son Lonnie is even worse. Why do you suppose the town put up with him? Was Lonnie ever a suspect in your mind?

No one else wanted the job?? Steve Brenner supported him, and Steve was very well liked in the community. Steve likely spent a lot of money on Lloyd's campaign to be sure he was elected and to control him.

Lonnie didn't come across as smart enough to carry out this psychological terror campaign.

Lonnie was never a suspect for me although the Sheriff was. Small towns tend to stick with who they know When Steve Brenner started throwing money around, and supported Lloyd, the town agreed he was a good bet.

Lonnie wasn't a suspect for me either. Just too stupid. I hated that his daddy Sheriff Lloyd covered for him...it's seen way too often in real life. I couldn't stand Steve Brenner - I knew he was a bully and arrogant buying people off.

I never suspected Lonnie. He was too stupid to pull off any of this. And I can't believe his father would be able to keep his job after continually bailing Lonnie out of trouble and not arresting him. There is a newspaper reporter running around asking questions. I'm surprised she didn't run a front page story on the sheriff. I agree that he was probably elected because Steve Brenner backed his campaign.

Brenner was a master manipulator and he wanted Sheriff Lloyd so the town voted for Sheriff Lloyd. Remember, we were privy to scenes that the town's people were not. We knew what Brenner was really like. But the town's people did not. They all actually liked Brenner. The girls swooned over him. LOL

Good point Jessica. I forgot that we received information that wasn't general knowledge in town.

I never thought Lonnie was the killer. I'm not saying Lonnie can't be a killer just not the Heartbreaker. I can see Lonnie going too far because he is impulsive. The Heartbreaker was a planner.

I thought it was funny that the town called the sheriff Lard ass behind his back. I figured with the town basically being run by Brenner Sheriff Lloyd was easy for Brennner to manipulate.

Lonnie was spoiled and stupid without the brain to pull something off like this. I have no words for why that town tolerated the sheriff. They clearly lacked respect for him (calling him LA). I’m with Anita in thinking no one else wanted the job.
