Tony and Adam have a strong connection after their short conversation about being “trouble.” What was it for Tony and what was it for Adam?

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments To me, it felt like opposites attract situation. They are two very different personalities, but there was an instant attraction. At this point, the question is if Adam is his terrible self or if he will open up to Tony.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 1808 comments It seems to be lust at first sight for Tony while for Adam it is perhaps the need to move on from Robin (and even Jules) - Rebound.

To be honest, I did not believe the love at first sight idea that Brockmann tries to sell throughout the novella. I'm not a fan of this trope even for straight characters (like Will in the previous book) - too unrealistic.

One of the reasons I asked the question is for the reasons you both speak about. I think Tony had a fandom crush on Adam, admiring his work as an actor and one that is openly gay. He sees him in the flesh and seizes the moment. I think he’s also pretty intuitive and can see through Adam’s pain and heartache.

As for Adam, it felt rebound, too, in this moment. Later on, it felt like something else.
