2020 In Literature discussion

What a great book. The story of two kids who go though WWII. This is not about the Holocaust which, to me, was a relief. Just about a French girl and a German boy. This book is on my list, so far, as one of the best I've read for the year.

That's good to hear! This is the LAST book on my list of things to read, mainly because I waited in line for over a month just to check it out, but since it's the only one I have left, I'm going to tackle it this weekend.

I liked this book a lot and really enjoyed the lyrical writing style and the interesting look at radio during the WWII era. I can only think of a few high school students that I would hand this to because of the length and the style, but I can definitely see why it has been so popular with adults.

I enjoyed this one, but it took me over a weeks' worth of lunch breaks just to finish it, which has never happened with any YA novel I've read. I don't think many teens would want to tackle it, but it still would be easy enough to recommend to voracious readers who are interested in WWII.

What a great story. I just sighed out loud when it was over. I liked the fact that although not everything was wrapped up neatly, I felt like a lot of good came out of their horrors. Strong characters make me happy.

I agree with other reviews. A great story - well told, but it will be dedicated high school reader that is willing to tackle this story.
