♞ Pat Gent | 342 comments For the 5 point task ~ can chocolates be used as a singular chocolate or does it have to be the plural form?

It can be both - I'll fix it. 😊

Are we looking for the word in the TITLE? or in the TEXT of the book?

I intended it to be a title word.

♞ Pat Gent | 342 comments Now I just need to get motivated to read a book. I'm having a struggle this month ... lots of real life distractions.

Horse show season has started - I had a show last weekend, then I have clinics scheduled the next two weekends, and I'm judging a show the following weekend. And that's February done.

And March is shaping up to be about the same.

I'm just hoping to just squeeze a book in here and there, and there's always audios, right?

Audio Books are lifesavers :D Hang in There Pat! Enjoy your Horses! 🐎
In Ag class, I remember learning, cows produce more milk listening to classical music. Maybe, your horses would like listening to a good cozy mystery or maybe a good horse story, like Pony by R.J. Palacio . :D I ♥️ horses!

♞ Pat Gent | 342 comments I did a quick search in my library's catalog, and whattayaknow. There it is. And now it's in my hold queue.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments PAT - Task # 2
Task B ~ Read a book that has at least 2 of the digits in Lincoln's birthday in its page count.
FEB 12, 1809 ~ 0, 1, 1, 2, 8, 9

(Same question re Washington's birthday)

So ... you are NOT using the number for the month of February at all? Only the day and year?

Thanks for the clarification ...

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments Me again for PAT ..

George Washington
FEB 12, 1732 ~ 1 , 1, 2, 2, 3, 7

Shouldn't this date be Feb 22, 1732 ~ 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 7?

Correct, only day and year.

It should be! Yes! Copy paste is not my friend. ::sigh:: I double checked it about a bazillion times too.

Feb 22, 1732 ~ 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 7

♞ Pat Gent | 342 comments Diana can you edit my task #2.3 to reflect the correction to GW's second birthday date?

message 15: by Diana S (new)

Diana S | 2175 comments Mod
Pat, is it just the date or do you care to rewrite the GW part of the task?

If that's the case, just rewrite it below and I'll add it to the task thread.
Will that work?

message 16: by ♞ Pat (last edited Feb 03, 2023 10:39AM) (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 342 comments It's just the date part for the second date in the task...

Should look like
Feb 22, 1732 ~ 1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 7

Thanks, D.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments DRATS ... I had picked my Lottery books in my spreadsheet, but apparently never posted in the thread.
Didn't notice till I went in this morning to check the picks and realized I didn't have a post listing my six books.

S*I*G*H

I'm happy to share my list with you. ;-)

I hate when I make a goof like that!

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 734 comments Thanks, Pat ... but I'll read my # 2 and # 5 and won't get credit for them. Not the end of the world.

That's disappointing. I'm struggling to get books read this month myself. ::sigh::

I read Love Medicine first book out of the gate this month, and I have decided to just give up on Louise Erdrich. I simply cannot connect to her writing in a meaningful way. I've read three of her novels and didn't really understand ANY of them.

Then I read French Braid, which felt kind of similar to the Erdrich book, in that there was a STORY there, but I just couldn't figure out what it was.

And then - OMG. The Great Believers. I haven't been able to pick up and get into a book since I finished it three days ago. I cried. I raged. I ended up emotionally and spiritually drained at the end of that, and I simply cannot get the story out of my head. I want to read and enjoy another book. I have a PILE of books that I need to read and enjoy, and I just cannot seem to move past the 1986 Chicago Boystown AIDS epidemic crisis.

I've had horse events every single weekend for the last three weekends, and another one every weekend in February, so I'm not finding a whole lot of reading time anyway, and to have a "finished" book stay stuck in my head isn't making me the most proficient reader this month.

(( O )) (( O )) <----- spinning my wheels

Oh no! I done that too in the past 🫤
But this month is read-a-thon, read them during that time and get points that way 🙂
