Deb M | 2 comments I read this memoir and wanted to share. The author travelled extensively in Russia around 1992. Perestroika was just beginning and Russians wanted all the “wins” of capitalism, without understanding capitalism. As the author moves through funny chapters (“Chunky Milk” and “KGB Casino”), he hears repeated themes of companies without any idea how to market or how to adjust to an economy that isn’t commamd driven. The stories are hilarious, but insightful at the same time. Highly recommend. Has anyone else read this or experienced Russia at this unique point in time?
