For this month's Book of the Month, we're reading first appearances in Big 2 (DC/Marvel) comics!

Pick any comic you'd like to read in which a now-established character first appears.

I'll be going for Harley Quinn (it was her, the joker or wolverine TBH, since I'm not much into the Big2, and she's the best of the 3)

Since I'll have to read The Batman Adventures #12 for that (and I don't want to read a single issue) , I'll go for either Harley Quinn: 30 Years of the Maid of Mischief: The Deluxe Edition (Harley Quinn, Harley Quinn's Greatest Hits or in last ressort The Batman Adventures Vol. 2, depending on what I can find. I based those picks on leagueofcomicgeeks page for where the single issue appears.

And then I'll use the extra time to read some of the fixed picks of 2023.

I am going to read Chews Your Destiny - Gumazing Gum Girl

I'll be reading Flash Comics #86 - AKA the first appearance of Black Canary! Using this month's theme as an excuse to finally start reading my copy of The Black Canary: Bird of Prey.

I ended up reading (well, am in the middle of reading, but I'll be finishing it today) Batman, Vol. 1: Their Dark Designs since it's (I think?) the first appearance of Punchline. I thought she had a cute character design so wanted to check out the story, even though I'm not a huge Bat-Fan.

I found it difficult to tell exactly what the first appearance was, but good enough for me! :)

You're all good, according to leagueofcomicgeeks her first appeareance is in batman #89 which is collected in the volume you read. ;)

On my side I ended up reading Harley Quinn: 30 Years of the Maid of Mischief: The Deluxe Edition (Harley Quinn which was... ok overall because I really like Harley but since it was an anthology a bit up and down depending on which issues we're talking about. From the point of view of somebody who reads very little big 2, it was an interesting "exercise".
