Finding Me
question
What is the best part of this book?

What part of this book do you all find the most fascinating? For me, it was the creepy, crazy guy that stood outside their home late at night.

The entire "bad assness" of Viola Davis as a child and a woman. She went through a lot of crap, yet came out scarred AND stronger.
The entire book was great for me. From start to finish I couldn’t believe the live Viola lived.
Everything, the way she was determined to achieve her goals and fight through everything was amazing.
Two things
-the amount of time she spent on her childhood in the book (about 40%)
-I laughed out loud a lot to her audiobook; very good storyteller

I loved the audio version of this book. Listening to her tell her story was next level good!
the ending, how she ties it all together with the simplicity of a bow: the feeling of the last one: holding your 8-year-old self and you both reassuring one another
I can’t believe no one at her school helped her clean up the pee on her chair. Rude!
Really though, I loved listening to the audiobook. I love her as an actress - her voice is fun to listen to. She is fierce. I never knew that so many actors are trying to deal with some trauma. That explains a lot about the theatre folks I’ve known….
I’m happy for Viola’s success. She deserves it all!
