Lmk, I'm curious 👀

A 5/5 rating, for me, depends upon how I feel when I am finished. Was I profoundly affected? Will it cause me to change in a significant way? Will the character (s) stay with me for a long time? Would I wholeheartedly recommend the book to family/friends or complete strangers? Would it require explaining for them to understand it? Did I, for the most part, understand it? Will I read it again? Knowing that I have limited storage space, would I flaunt those restrictions to keep it until I die? Do I really love it? ❤️

If I love the characters, feel connected to them, and they seem like real people, not fake and oddly perfect. If the writing is really good, like good at every part, enough that you can visualize EVERYTHING. And if I just overall really enjoyed it. No book is perfect. There’s always going to be one character I don’t like, but that’s the point. If it’s good enough, you should be able to pick favorites 😁. That means you feel included in the story.
So yeah, the characters are a huge part of it for me. If they aren’t well written, I don’t enjoy it as much.

Definitely the connection I felt to the characters and how the plot fits together :)
Also if I felt like reading it or I was just reading it to read

Slow burn, angst, comedy, drama, spicy and an enemies to loves trope

honestly? it's mostly just based on however i'm feeling that moment/during the book. there's been quite a few books that deserved a 5 stars and I don't regret giving them that, however there have been some in the past that originally gave 5 and have been bumped down to a 4 after some reflection. Ultimately it comes down to how much i loved the characters, the plot and the dynamics, bonus points for a plot twist or how well it's written. But also if i was OBSESSED with the book, then automatic 5 stars lol
