Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Hi Teamies! So excited to start =]
I'll try to think of some name ideas. Any volunteers for captain?

message 6: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 982 comments Hi everybody! Jenne I have to say I'm really excited to actually play on a team with you this time around. :) Yay!

I'll try and think of some team names here shortly...ok admittedly probably tomorrow when it's not 1:30am. Hehehe.

As for captain I'd really prefer not to. I have so many other balls in the air right now I'd rather just have the free range to check in and read. :)

message 7: by NayNay (new)

NayNay Hi Ladies...looking forward to another round. For team Captain, I have a lot going on, and will be traveling soon.

Names:

Sassy Divas
The Bookies
Bookmarkers
Novel Characters
As The Page Turns

message 8: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments I can be captain if Grace doesn't want to. With Shelby being on the west coast and Grace being across the pond it's to our advantage to have one of y'all roll the dice if you want to. The weekend roll isn't a problem I'm up. It's the Thursday roll I'm not, I could roll as soon as I get up though.

message 9: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments That's right Shelby, we've never been on the same team. Nay Nay and I were last round. I'm pretty sure this is Grace's first time to play.

message 10: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) Hi just seeing this. If me being in this part of the world helps I can do captain. I haven't done Captain for anything like this before so you will have to keep me right to start with.

I suck at names I like NayNay's As the page turns or the Boomarkers.

My pathetic ideas

It's all about the books
Better Read than Dead
Beyond Words
Chapter and verse
Serial Slayers

Yes my first time playing this one. Shelby and I are on the same team for M/M bingo.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Hey Grace!!! I love Better Read than Dead lol :)

If you want the captain job it's all yours :)

If you want me to do the captain stuff the first roll or 2 so you can see I'm more than happy to. Or I'm happy to explain it all. You're call =]

message 13: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) I'm easy either way. What time on Thursday and Sunday do we make the rolls ? I have to go pick up my monsters from school. Thank goodness tomorrow is Paddy's Day so a nice day off :)

message 14: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments As long as all of the reviews are in the earliest we can roll is at midnight central time. I think that would be like 5am for you, so no need to get up early for it. Just whenever you get a moment too.

We just finished Spring Break last week and I'm glad to have my minions back at school!

message 15: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Looks like Grace will be our fearless leader :)
Any preferences on our name? Better Read than Dead gets my vote, reminds me of the walking dead lol.

message 16: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Grrr Gr has eaten my post like 3 times now....

Ok we officially kick off tomorrow. Grace if you're on the same timezone as Dublin, anytime after 5am you're time we can roll. So just whenever you get a chance to in the morning. After you roll post it here on the team's thread and also on the post your spot thread. The link to the dice roller is in post 2 of our thread but you'll have to change it to 1 die.

Our potential first roll:
1. 1st in a series, a standalone, or a book set in Mexico
2. 2nd in a series or a book with a white cover
3. 3rd in a series or a book published in 1999
4. 4th in a series or any book on the Need to Buy shelf
5. 5th in a series or a title that starts with D
6. 6th in a series or a book with a weapon on the cover

Also peeps let's decide on our team name =]

message 17: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) Jenne yes I am on the same time zone as Dublin and London. I am usually up by around 7am my time. So I can post then.

I am trying to think of books for each of the numbers.

message 18: by Shelby (new)

Shelby (stang_lee) | 982 comments I like Better Read than Dead too. :) I'm a little crazy this week, but I'm trying to get all my links set up and organized to make my check ins easy. And Yay for Grace! You're going to be awesome.

One of my all time favourite books. I reread this at least once a year. I am done I just need to write a review which I really suck at.

That's good I find it hard enough to be coherent. I am definitely a reader not a writer.

Grace (Calcat) Spot 4Tangled Threads (Elemental Assassin, #4) by Jennifer Estep by Jennifer Estep
Read 19th March 2015

★★★★

I am enjoying this series more and more. Gin is such a great character and she shows her kick ass side to it's best in this one. I love all the supporting characters in these books, especially Finn and Sophia although Owen is growing on me. This one brings her closer to facing off with Mab. I can't wait to read the next one.

message 34: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Fin is awesome! I'd love to have him as a brother.

message 35: by Grace (new)

Grace (Calcat) Me too, he is a lot of fun and he can hold his own. Gin has a great extended family.

This was awesome! I lol'ed quite a few times while listening to it. Lots of great Dick Chaney moments too! From my understanding this was the last one and that makes me sad. Jane is always a good pick me up when you want a quick, funny, and entertaining read. I'm not sure where the story arc could go from this point anyways though. Jane seemed to come to terms with a lot of things in this book. I'm happy with the way everything went down. Jane deserves a HEA.

message 38: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Grace you'll also have to do a tracking post each roll.

Just a link to each person's review and the book they read.
Then when we roll again link that tracking post to the post your spot thread with the new roll.

Here's one I did from last round

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Grace (Calcat) Jenne How to I link to a specific post in a thread ?

message 40: by Jenne (new)

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments Click on the time date stamp on the right side. Then just cut the URL from the address bar and paste it into the (a href="")name of link(/a)

Change any ( ) to < > and you're good to go.

Jenne (jennetheinstigator) | 7439 comments They worked :)

Took me forever to figure out so much of that stuff. It's hard to show someone since showing the codes just does what you're trying to do. That's why I loaded pictures of the codes here in the handbook folder so people can actually see. Would of helped me learn a lot faster if I'd of had a visual reference lol.

It is no mistake when you find a really good book, we are pulled towards it sometimes by it's cover, sometimes by the name of an author, sometimes by an unknown force that just leads us to that one shelf with that on amazing book on it!!! PRIDE AND PREJUDICE is that amazing book for me, I cannot tell you how many time I read this book and it is hard to believe but I do fall in love with it a little more each time. I mean how can you not love Mr. Darcy? He was my first book character crush, and I just realized today....HE STILL IS!!!

Swoon worthy moment of the book - "My affections and wishes have not changed, but one word from you will silence me forever. If, however, your feelings have changed I will have to tell you: you have bewitched me, body and soul, and I love, I love, I love you. I never wish to be parted from you from this day on...."

Thanks Jenne that is what I thought but just checking. I did get up at 5am to check for it then went back to bed. I tidied up my review post to look a bit neater for later. It is after 10 am and my boys have just got up. I heard my eldest reading his brother Revolting Rhymes by Roald Dahl late last night. I should have told them to get to sleep but I hate to discourage reading :)
