(view spoiler)[Lila has got a lot going on. Everything bad seems to come at once. No wonder she is upset and not really coping. Running until you can barely walk is not the solution. I see why her family is worried. I think sending her to family in the UK is a good idea. A change of scenery might help.

The weather sounds bad. Like the summer I'm having lol I don't live in the UK, but have similar weather. The last week it's been raining and feels more like autumn. Sounds like that's the kind of summer Lila is having in the UK. She should have packed warmer clothes! She didn't listen to the advice of others. Maybe she was still in denial?

(view spoiler)[Lila is starting to like it in the UK. I think having Orion as a friend helps her. She is probably going to fall in love with him. I wonder how that will work out, since she is planning to stay for a limited time. I like how Lila loves to bake. I love to bake too, but don't do it often. Her recipes sound good.

Checkpoint C: Chapter 18-27

(view spoiler)[It was easy to guess who did the graffiti. I was right. I like that Lila asked her to help with baking. It does seem to work.

Now Lila has a good excuse to stay in England. Take the Cordon Bleu course. It will give her longer to think about how she and Orion are going to work out together. I bet she is going to stay.

It's no surprise her Ex wants her back. Good for her for saying no.

I hope her best friend will finally call so they can talk it out. I'm sure they will stay friends.

The tv program is a great opportunity! Lila will love it, though after it I'm sure she will go back to the UK. I wonder if she will ask Orion to come with her so she can show him Miami.

Yes lol I'm a fast reader. I often read a book a day. Now it took me 2 days, so that is average.

(view spoiler)[I just finished up to ch.18 and although some minor things annoy me (Like Lila being obsessively into each of her interests (i.e. she constantly brings up kitchens or being from Miami even if they're not relevant to the conversation) and her being invited to Orion's most vulnerable moment despite having just met him), I still like the story and writing style overall. I feel like the author did a great job describing the town and characters without focusing on them too much, I can envision everything quite easily.

I don't really like baking or baked goods but this book made me want to try flan!! I love when books encourage me to try something new. (hide spoiler)]

I agree taht the description of the town is nice.

Flad is something that she makes sound delecious, but i looked it up online and it's probably not for me (hide spoiler)]

Ah that's a shame because after googling, flan looks so good to me!! But I guess to each their own :)

(view spoiler)[I finished as well and even though the story was quite predictable it was still super cute and wholesome! I really liked seeing Lila's character arc after Andres explained why he left her and that she improved herself instead of just being bitter. I'm also glad she got back in touch with Stef and I think their friendship will stay strong!

I also liked Lila hanging up Abuela's apron. That was one thing that I wasn't expecting but it made the ending so much more powerful, and I'm glad Lila can build her own future now. I think going back to England is definitely the right move for her.

Overall, aside from the minor annoyances I mentioned earlier and the predictability, this was a super cute story! I'd say 3.5 stars. (hide spoiler)]
