Jake Frazier | 10 comments I’ve started reading these type of books 2 years ago and fell in love. So far I’ve loved:

-Survival quest: way of the shaman
- He who fights monsters
- Nova terra
- something: Full murderhobo
- New world

It feels like I can’t get enough and have read 50+ books a year.

What are y’all’s favorites and any recommendations?

PS: dreaming of getting sent into a world with the “System”

message 22: by Emilia (new)

Emilia Garcia | 1 comments The quest academy series by Brian Norton is my favorite right now. The pacing of the over all timeline is a pretty slow, however the writing is really good and the world building is great; book three came out recently as well.

message 23: by Jake (new)

Jake Frazier | 10 comments Thanks! I’ve been reading a lot! I’ve loved the Wandering inn as well as Battle mage farmer and any other book by Seth Ring. I’ll add your recommendations to my To-Read. Thanks again

message 24: by Remington (new)

Remington Frost | 1 comments I found Michael Dalton's 'Trailer Park Elves' to be a fun humorus take on the genre.

message 25: by Kayle (new)

Kayle James | 2 comments Solo Leveling's light novels are pretty good.

message 26: by Trek (new)

Trek Lunden | 1 comments Been reading The Good Guys series by Eric Ugland (which is a separate series from The Bad Guys) and have been loving it. Humor sprinkled throughout occasionally hits like Dungeon Crawler Carl. Currently on book 9 of 15. Recommend!

Highlights:
- Great progression that isn't super crunchy.
- Morally torn protag on a redemption arc.
- The core cast has a unique voice and personality that doesn't feel contrived.
- The stakes unable to be ignored and become more desperate as the series progresses.
- The protag is OP, but still runs up against obstacles he can't just smash his way through.
- There's city-building, but done artfully and never a slogging focus.

Negatives:
- The protag's inner depression will at times conflict with his personality, resulting in frustrating sequences.
- Not too many other negs to say. If you've read a good amount of LitRPGs, this series won't bring anything particularly new to the table, but remains entertaining regardless.
