Recap of special rolls:

If you roll:

1-1: The current leader must move back 3 spaces on their game board and read the book where they have landed next.

Any combination totaling 7: You move 7 spaces and stay on that space, but you may read the book you land on OR one book forward or one book back - - your choice.

6-6: Don't like the book you will land on? You may roll again.

3-1: You get to take pick someone's next move on the board. The admins will use random.org to decide who will be moved. You get to decide which book they must move to next on their game board - - backward or forward -- within a 15 book radius. So you can move your opponent up to 15 spaces back or up to 15 spaces forward to the book of your choosing. Should you be reluctant to move another player ,or if you do not respond to an administrator's request to designate the move, random.org will move the player - odd rolls will move the player backward and even rolls will move the player forward.

2-1: You may use up to 3 of your participation points to move yourself ahead up to 3 spaces.

6-5: You must read a book that's on someone else's board and NOT on your own before you may roll again. (extra note here: you may read the book you land on first and then read the other person's book, or vice-versa. So two books must be completed before you re-roll).

4-4: Receive 4 participation points for the next book you read/review.

2-3 Get an extra "swap" that you may use anytime during the game.

6-4 Earn a surprise advantage to use anytime during the game

Loved the Invisible Hour and Posted my review. I did spend a little time outlining my understanding of the current participating point count and how I got there. I count myself as having two swaps left and nice participation points remaining. But I am steady for awhile. I haven't read any of the next six books I can land on. I am excited to see what happens.

Okay, I used my last move forward spaces to get to my epic summer read in hopes to finally finish the Porter Board.

I am ready for my next roll (1).

It is taking me forever to get through my first Engineer board. It only took 12 books to finish my first round, with 2 dice. Even with 1 die on the Porter board, I got a couple of special rolls and finished in 13 books. On this board, I am already on Book 26 and will need at least a couple more!

I hear you Robin! I read 23 books for my first Engineer round and it was only that few because I swapped a 900 page book for the much shorter one I had landed on.

My engineer board is set up and ready to roll!

Thanks to the Cabana boys for setting me up in the new train, much appreciated! I'm sure I'm a bit disheveled from the long travel on Porter.

It looks like Nicole is on space 8 so I'll move her 15 spaces forward to 23.

I'm so close to being off my board, this lands me on 99 so I'll definitely be off with my next roll.

Anita & JoAnne, With this roll, I am using a tag-related benefit to move forward 1 space. I am now on space 83. Will note on my Board.

Joanne, to keep your board up to date (not sure how you are doing this), I just finished my #94. I was moved by Tien's roll on Aug 15 (for my next read) to 100. (So I don't need to ask for my next roll yet.)

BUT, I accidentally already read that one earlier this year, forgetting it was on my list here. So, that's technically where I've "landed" next, but I'll actually be reading #99.

You may have noted that I finished a Subdue book but alas, my roll last time, combined with the roll before, gave me a 5,6 so I've got another book to read before I can roll my way along my Porter Board.

@Joy - that Conductor uniform is looking very shabby and worn! The wardrobe attendant in Royal Coach will have a fitting for your new uniform when you arrive there and have you freshly uniformed for your next rounds.

Where's everyone hanging out on the Subdue Express these days?

I'm in Baggage Car, playing games, putting together puzzles, emptying the vending machines and breaking into the cases of wine. Oh and sometimes reading. I'm still at the beginning of my Porter board. Ursula is making very sure I don't progress very fast. I can hear her cackling as I write that. Work hasn't helped either, eroding into my reading time.

Oh and Gnarly is pining away for Amy again since she's left, and not even BnB or Joy or Cindy are around to sooth with endless petting. Fortunately I have with me a ginormous stash of Meowy Wowwy, keeping Gnarly mellow if not happy. OK, stoned!

I'm in the Second Class Lounge reading another doorstopper - Edge of Eternity at over 1100 pages.

I'm almost done thank god!! My next board will NOT be full of giants, but it sure has been fun knocking a few of those off my TBR!

I have just reached the Second Class Lounge of Porter, pretty comfortable here reading Trouble the Water, which is the book I won in the Swap!

That's a 2,1 for me, which I will note on my Board.

Also, JoAnne & Anita, in conjunction with this roll, I am using a tag-related benefit to move forward 5 spaces, putting me on space 91.

I’m curled up in the Caboose, reading birthday books instead of Subduing at the moment. The lighting has improved a lot since the last time I was here, so I’m also making good progress on my needlepoint.

Ready for my next roll tomorrow (8).
