Maxine | 10 comments I am new to the group although I joined GR a few years ago. My name is Maxine, but also known as Craftimax and MommaMax. I have been an avid reader since childhood and have not let up on that activity as I have gotten older. In fact, since I am retired, I go through a lot of books. I live in Indiana (hello any fellow Hoosiers). I enjoy flower gardening. Have just become interested in raising succulents. (Unsure how that has come about!) Planning to make my tree for Christmas a book tree. Need to get started on making those ornaments! Used to do a lot of scrapbooking but not so much now. Also make my own cards (refuse to pay the high price for cards). Not much to tell so will sign off. TTFN

I just read your profile information. I love that your mother read to you. Mine did not. I was an only child living in the country with no one close so books became my companions. I read to my children and they became readers as time permitted with work and children! Look forward to your reviews from books you read. To say the least, as I see recommendations of books my TBR list grows and grows!

Tayo Reads (tayoreads) | 19 comments Nice meeting your acquaintance Maxine , I’m currently reading two books The Perfect Wife by Blake Pierce and Can’t Stop What’s Inside by CJ Heigelmann(in the psychological thrillers group). What are you currently reading?

Maxine | 10 comments I am reading a young adult book titled we are not free. I have not read a young adult book before but when I saw this on the stand at the library it caught my attention. it is fiction but it's based up on those of Japanese heritage who were placed in camps in California during the war even though they were American citizens. the author had family members who went through that and that is how she came to write this novel.

Welcome, Maxine. I too have loved books all my life. Aren't we lucky to live in a time when they are so much more accessible!
