The story of how Ellie saved a man from choking on food is told. Her colleague insists on treating him as a heart attack patient, dismissing Ellie’s alternative diagnosis. Ellie finally kicks him out of her way and saves the man’s life. How does this scene reflect on the public’s confidence in women as professionals in comparison to men? Are they viewed differently? Thoughts?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments I don't think it was so much her being a woman as her date being a male sexist jerk. I do think that a woman has to work twice as hard as a man to be taken seriously in anything.

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1203 comments Anita, I agree with you.

I've seen a similar comment resembling your last sentence, which continues with "... fortunately, this is not difficult."

:-)
