Here's the spot to discuss The Prison Minyan. Now, this author's previous work has been thrillers, which I haven't read, nor do I read as widely in that genre as some of you, but I venture to say this is an unusual book. (I haven't finished; going on 2/3 done at this moment.) I remember an interview in which the author said this book is literary fiction. I'm not sure about that. What do you think? But it's got a unique feel to it. In a few lines not far from the beginning he gave me a new perspective on some of my extended family. Also I'm finding it quite the page-turner. There could be a variety of reactions. We'll see!

P.S. Watch the spoilers until later in November. Thanks.

I am as well.
Going to reserve my comments for later.

Louise (louisekf) | 40 comments I finally finished The Prison Minyan last night. The second half of the book was much more engaging than the first half - which is why it took me so long to read it! I kept wondering when something was going to happen, and then something finally did.

Ha ha, I liked the 1st part better, because it got more into character and raising questions. But the second half did keep those pages turning, I'll say that, Louise!

I haven't written my review yet! So many books to review, so little time!

I did read almost all of the book sometime ago.
I felt the set up was great in understanding the crux of the book.
After a while I became a little critical of - isnt there something more to pull this together.
No rating, as I didnt read in total.
