Hannah | 3288 comments I picked this book up not knowing much about it because it is a Reese’s Book Club pick, and I have enjoyed Reese’s other picks that I have read. When I first started to read this, I thought I was going to hate it and that picking it up had been a mistake, but I soon changed my mind as I continued to read. The book opens on Halloween with Jen seeing her teenage son stab a man through the window. But when Jen wakes up the next day, she realises that it is the day of the murder again, but the murder has not yet happened. When this happens again the next morning, Jen is even further back in the past, and she soon realises that she needs to find and change whatever in the past would trigger her son to stab the stranger, going back further and further in the past to try to prevent the stabbing. I usually dislike stories told from the present looking back in the past, but I felt it worked really well for this book and I quickly became caught up in the story. The suspense was excellent with lots of twists and turns, and I felt that it was an interesting take on the mystery / thriller idea. I did guess part of the mystery quite early on and so it was maybe a little too drawn out, and I would have liked the transitions between days and scenes to be tighter, but the plot kept me reading and not wanting to put this book down until I understood the full story.
