Our first contemporary read of 2024 is Elixir: In the Valley at the End of Time by Kapka Kassabova

Apart from Carolien, Jax and me, who were in favour of this title, everybody else is of course invited to also share their thoughts!

What made you vote for this non-fiction? What are your thoughts about the presentation of nature and the people in the river valley? To whom would you recommend this book?

I have the title as an audiobook and will start this soon!

I'll get it from the library, but will first do our other group reads.

I really enjoyed Kassabova's two previous books so purchases a copy of her newest. Hoping to get to it later in the month.

Again great! Started it today and I already like her description of the landscape and her personal resonance with nature...
