Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) Several of my comments and at least one topic have been taken down recently. Was this done by a mod or by an online enemy? I think I know the answer, but I’m seeking confirmation.

While I can't say for sure, I suspect that a mod got tired of your paranoid discourse and frivolous accusations. You are sinking yourself further in the eyes of GR members with every post you do.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) If it was a mod, it seems like they would have taken down the entire topic. It also seems like they would have been professional enough to send me a message explaining their decision.

Readers can’t delete comments or topics - only moderators. They will be deleting your harassment and doxing of readers that violate GR author guidelines.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) I have been under an attack by an online enemy. I'm trying to determine the extent of the attack. If a mod could speak up and admit to taking my comments down, I would appreciate it. I need help in clarifying this situation.

message 6: by Steve (new)

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) The hacker is now commenting on one of my old threads. People, I believe we have a problem here. My comments are not paranoid or frivolous if they are true. You must not understand the scope of this attack.

message 7: by Steve (new)

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) The hacker just told me to delete my Reddit account or he would go to Amazon. I suppose he means he would attack my books there. He is communicating with me as we speak through an old thread that he has hijacked. People, this is not the result of a mod's decision. If it is, please speak up, mod.

message 8: by Steve (new)

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) I had an earlier thread called "I'm Under Attack. Help!" That thread has been taken down. The hacker is now communicating with me and threatening me through comments to that thread. I would appreciate mod input to officially acknowledge this problem.

Like Mellie told you, only moderators can remove a thread, so it should be a signal for you to stop posting you claims of online harrassment. You are doing yourself no favors by continuing this.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) You have made it clear that you think I am the problem. Put your personal feelings for me aside for one moment. What if the things I am saying are true? Also, I don’t know what you mean when you say only a mod can delete a thread. I have the option of deleting each topic and each comment that I produce. Do you not have that option? Someone has hacked into my account and is deleting topics and comments that they don’t like.

Try to think straight for a moment, Steve. Yes, you can delete your own comments in a thread but you can't delete the comments made by others in that same thread, while others can't delete your comments: only a moderator can. I tried to advise you about this but you clearly are not ready to listen to anyone but yourself. I will thus let you alone with your 'problems'.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) I have reported the issue to Goodreads with a screenshot. Yes, Michel, I am aware of all of that. It was only my comments and my thread that were deleted. Please note that the title on this topic says "My Comments." I am reaching out to the mods. We will handle it from there.

As you have been told, multiple times now, only a moderator can delete the comments and posts of other users. If you think your account has been hacked, then change the password.

The post you refer to (that has been removed) doxed a reader, which violates GR TOS. It appears you still haven’t made yourself familiar with the author guidelines or figured out how to behave in a professional manner. If you keep at it, I wouldn’t be surprised if GR ban your account.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) You think I spoke badly of a reader? I'll have to go back and look at that. It was not my intention to do that. This is meant to be about me being attacked. Somehow things have gotten turned around. I don’t understand why people are now saying I'm the problem. The attacks are the problem. I appreciate your comments. I'm taking the issue up with the mods. I have found the proper place to file complaints. It would help if that place were easier to find. From the looks of things, more people are going to need it.

Jim Vuksic | 1227 comments A cursory review of Steve Johnson's Goodreads Author Profile reveals the following information which may account for his postings within this discussion topic which he himself created.

- Authored and published 15 distinct works that have generated 88 ratings & 31 reviews. Average rating: Only 1.82 stars out of 5.

- Posted 8 books under the Have Read list within the profile. All 8 were written, published, and apparently read by himself.

- A blogger, 336 posts to-date. The most recent accuses hackers of sabotoging his written works with false ratings and reviews and pleading with Goodreads moderators to do someting about his many attackers on the site.

- A Goodreads member since December of 2015, he has only attracted 18 followers to-date.

Merely a suggestion:
- Join other members in discussing books you have read (besides your own) and dwell upon positive aspects of the world of literature.
- Focus upon striving to continuously improve upon your technical writing, narration, story line. promotional, and marketing skills.

Very few novice authors ever achieve commercial success or even notoriety within this extremely competitive field. That said; some have. There is no reason why you could not eventually become one of them. I wish you success.

Steve Johnson (stevejohnsonbooks) My blog has hundreds of posts going back years. I have reviewed hundreds of books. You're getting bad information from somewhere. The 1.82 stars is a result of the fake reviews and ratings.

My error. The number of blog posts has been corrected to read 336.
