Hopefully, I won't be the only one doing this. My dual list worked well for me last year, so I am going to attempt it again for 2024. The first list are newer books, the second has the more obscure African classics.

Two very interesting lists, Diane. I like West with the Night a lot more than An African Farm. And I really enjoy Kwei Quartey. Hope you get to a lot of them!

Double list?? How does that work? Are you reading 2 pr month, or selecting one?

And thank you so much for keeping this going, I really appreciate it, even if I suck at completing this challenge myself :) But maybe this is the year to try again??

Two each month. This way I'm not just reading the new shiny ones but the older ones, too.

Finished Azazeel and Arrows of Rain.

It is a good book. It did take me a bit to get into it and it is a tough topic to read, but I am glad to have finally read it,

Finished Ties That Tether and The Thief and the Dogs.

What did you think of West with the Night? I much prefer it to Out of Africa.

I liked it a lot. I don't know what took me so long to finally read it.

Ha, thanks! I am actually slacking a lot lately due to traveling. I missed both my June and July books. I am ashamed to admit the break from my usual reading routine was actually quite nice.

Oh I'm with you in the slacker department - I've been behind on everything all year, but slowly catching up now - vacation rule: read at least a book a day, but no rules on what (as that just makes me rebel), so finally on track for annual challenge and catching up a little also on this challenge :) But breaks are needed at times, whatever works!
