Description:

Settlement Portal Challenge can is a Role Playing story challenge. It's a wacky spin of Survival. You get to decide where, when and who gets stranded and how they survive.

It can be as simple or complex as you want. You can choose to complete the base challenge or expand on it.

The Dimensional Library is the meeting point for players. It exists outside of time and holds all of the knowledge of the worlds. A place to search for knowledge, hangout, meet other players, etc.

RULES
- Books Read between January 1st to November 30th 2024
- One Book Per Subject
- Readings must be on Goodreads. (Re-reads are ok.)
Book, Short Story, Novella, Comic Volume, Webserial, Webnovel
- Write a description about the element you're taking from the story and how it will be used in your challenge.


** Keep in mind that you determine how this challenge will be done. You can play solo or choose to connect with other players. What you can do will be limited by your base setup. You have to make sense within your creation. **

Sample Base
1) Who (Player/Character)
Stuff and Nonsense: Threadbare - A magically animated stuffed teddy bear. 12 inches tall & full of fluff.

2) When (Era/Time)
Altered Carbon: Years in the future & higher tech of the 25th Century.

3) Where (Place/Structure/Space)
Ready Player One: One of the fantasy game worlds. Woke up in a lush forest.

4) Portal to Dimensonal Library
Every Heart a Doorway: A doorway that opens when I have a strong desire for knowledge.

5) Bag or Mystery Chest (1 to 3 Items)
Player comes with a bag (purse, pouch, backpack, etc) or open chest.
Mystery Chest: 1st Item
Mrs. Wickham: Sewing Kit

Examples:

= Portal to Dimensional Library =
- Wardrobe: Need to read a book that has a wardrobe used as a doorway.
- Dreams: A story with dreams. But! Dream portal will have limitations based on the story. Like the player can only access the library by falling asleep & dreaming. But player cannot take anything out of Library.
- Teleporter in Futuristic Setting
- Magical Doorway like a hole in a tree, mushroom circle, cave entrance, pond, etc

= Setting (When/Where) =
Cradle: It's a historical setting with cultivation skills that are like magic and high level cultivators that have high tech like space ships. This kind of setting would let you have a mashup of old and new tech options in your settlement.
