1. Who was your favorite character?

2. Who was your least favorite character?

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be?

4. What did you think of the ending? (spoiler tags, please!)

5. What was your overall opinion?

Chloe W | 234 comments 1. Damien- favorite character
2. Lord Raoul- least favorite character
3. Maybe change some of Selene responses to Damien. I was rooting for them to open up, etc. but Selene had approximately 3 moments of honesty which did go with the story but still... I loved this book though!
4. Loved the ending but wished it could have been a tad more drawn out- I guess she wanted to heightened the suspense for the 2nd book!
5. Awesome read, a little more mature than some of my reads. I really enjoyed the Light vs Dark theme and the unfolding love story :)

Emily Reed 1. Who was your favorite character? My favorite character was Selene. I really related to her and her search for the truth a LOT.

2. Who was your least favorite character? My least favorite character was Selene's mother, I just did NOT like her.

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be? I would probably just try and speed it up a little more, because it was a bit slow.

4. What did you think of the ending? (spoiler tags, please!) I LOVED the ending! It made me want to continue the whole series!

5. What was your overall opinion? Overall, it was a really good book and it portrayed that sense of trying to find the Light in a Dark world and that feeling of being drawn to people that just exude that Light perfectly.

Dawna | 79 comments 1. Selene and Ophie
2. Lady Ragna BOOOO
3. I don’t know that I would change anything. I enjoyed the journey. I’ll know more of how I feel when I read the next book.
4. I love when an author builds up at the ending to make me want more. If this were a standalone-the ending would not be satisfactory. But knowing there is another book to continue the saga, I’m ready!

😻😻

5. What was your overall opinion?
as the second christian fic book i've read, busse did not dissapoint. this book was soo good, and left me wanting more and more of selene and damien. i loved the alternating chapters, tho i wish it was in first pov. i hated the darkness the first three chapters gave off; i felt like it was wayy too depressing, tho i guess it was supposed to emanate ghastly, dark vibes given the matter of talking to the dark lady and all. still, idk... idk why i felt it so deeply, like it made me ick and like wanna stop reading that part. but it lifted away, eventually, and i turned out to love the book. it was only chapts 1-3... idk, it was prolly bc i was having a bad week XD

anyway this book was amazinggg, and i cant wait to see how things resolve themselves with house ravenwood and selene, and her mom and sister! cant wait for book two.

Mary Emma Sivils | 638 comments 1. Who was your favorite character?

Damien, although Selene was a close second.

2. Who was your least favorite character?

Lady Ragna. Seriously, she needs to go.

3. If you could change one part of the book, what would it be?

I'd make the side characters a little more memorable. I felt like I didn't get to know them that well.

4. What did you think of the ending?

I kind of saw it coming, but I liked it!

5. What was your overall opinion?

A good story! Nothing that blew me away, but I was invested in the main characters, and I liked the premise of the great houses and their secrets! The oppressive atmosphere of House Ravenwood was done really well!

Lizzy | 402 comments 1. Damien. He’s so sweet and caring, I love him.

2. Amara. Girl got on my nerves. Why are you always so mean?

3. Nothing really, I liked all of it :)

4. *⚠️SORT OF SPOILER AHEAD⚠️* I really liked the ending. After thinking it over, it reminds me a lot of a fairytale. The princess is trapped in a castle by her evil mother, and gets saved by the prince and runs away with him, and they get ✨married✨ by the end of the storyyy. *⚠️SORT OF SPOILER OVER⚠️*

5. Exceeded my expectations by far! Everyone was saying it was slow, so I was kind of scared, because I normally don’t do well with slow paced books. But now I know there’s a difference between slow paced and uneventful with no substance. Best Christian fantasy book I’ve ever read🫶💛✨. (Also the only one I’ve ever read✨✨)
