Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments We're going to create and populate some lists based on tasks for the annual challenge.

I'll list the lists here:

a glass or grapes on the cover
Halloween as a theme
Nun as a Significant Character
Savory Food on the Cover
*Tetralogies ( 4-book series)
Yellow Flower on the Cover

*Not one of our lists, but useful. You can add books to that list as well. Also, verify that the books listed are indeed in a 4-book series.

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments If you create a list, please post a link here so that we can find it.

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments Esther, can you edit your explanation of the Halloween list to explain that this list is not for books you want to read at Halloween, but for books that are about Halloween and set during halloween? Hopefully, we'll avoid books that are just horror stories. Thanks.

Done. Good thinking.

Margo | 11629 comments New list: Nun as significant character

https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

I need to work how to change the link name!

Margo | 11629 comments nun as significant character

Ha - new skill of the day!

message 10: by Kristie, Moderator (new)

Kristie | 19148 comments Just a reminder to be careful with the tetralogies list. Not all of the books are still tetralogies. However, I did find a few on the list that I completely forgot about or didn't realize were actually tetralogies, so it is definitely a useful list.

I added a little note to verify if the book does fit. That goes for all the lists.

Look at you go! I've never done that, so I have no idea

1. Add <@a href= " in front of address (remove the @ sign)
2. Add ">@NAME OF LIST at the end (remove the @ sign)
3. Add <@/at the end of your name (remove the @ sign)
4. Add a> after that

Be sure to include the " symbols

CORRECTION: on line 1. of instructions.

Thanks Almeta. I eventually get the inspiration to click on the (some html is ok) and I found it. What an obscure name to give such a useful tab!

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments Isn't the first instruction <@a href=" ?

Are you speaking of the space? I've always used a space.

no space test

with space test

Seems to work either way.

message 19: by Janice, Moderator (last edited Jan 10, 2024 06:50PM) (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59896 comments No, not speaking of the space. I'm saying the instruction is missing the a in front of href.

1. Add <@href

OH!!! I didn't notice that. You are correct.

Thanks.

Margo | 11629 comments a glass or grapes on the cover

Started a new list for a prompt in literary hike Realm of the Elderlings. Hoping someone will save me from having a book that doesn't really appeal!

message 22: by Kabrada (new)

Kabrada | 268 comments Margo, please check that link. It doesn't seem to work - it lead me to the main GR page.

message 23: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11629 comments Thanks Kadrada, fixed now ;-)

message 24: by Kabrada (new)

Kabrada | 268 comments Great. I might go and add to that list. ;)

Kabrada | 268 comments I see that I have added a book that doesn't fit the challenge requirement in length (Heavenly Date and Other Flirtations). Can you remove it from the list?

You can't go wrong with the first book listed, A Good Day for Chardonnay. I really enjoyed the series.

Margo | 11629 comments Yes, that sounds good. Almeta added that one, bless her! All the ones I found myself sound more like chic lit.

It will never match Darynda Jones' Charley Davidson series!

(view spoiler).

Rusalka (rusalkii) | 19206 comments I have a confession to make... I have spent the last week proof reading flyers and magazines and powerpoints for a conference we started to run today. I spent 11 hours today there rechecking everything, and writing, proofing, and printing another flyer for the reception at 5pm.

I had to capitalise your list title Margo. It's a compulsion. I am sorry.

message 32: by Kabrada (new)

Kabrada | 268 comments LOL Rusalka, that could have been me - if I were able to to edit that title.
I spent the past week proofreading a joint quarterly publication of three local church parishes.
