The reason for Lucy's and Sage's estrangement was revealed and we learn much more about the enigmatic Ms. Sharpe. Did Lucy do the right thing in outing Sage's father? What was the most surprising nugget of information about Lucy?

Sage was pretty much alone, without family since her father was in the final stages of Alzheimer's. It was pretty unfair of him to allow Sage to believe Lucy had something to do with Lydia's death. I think Lucy did the right thing.

I had no idea Lucy was Micronesian. That came as a shock as I had a completely different image of her (think Glenn Close as Cruella DeVille without the evil smile). I also liked learning why she left the CIA.

Or with it!

I have Maggie Q from Nikita in my head when thinking of Lucy:

She's perfect and looks like the revised image I created after learning her heritage.

lorii (Loriidae) I enjoyed these background elements more than the actual plot. I was invested in lucy and Sage working out their differences right from the beginning, and couldn't really understand why Lucy brushed her off in the beginning.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments Me too! The reason for Sage and Lucy's estrangement and what really happened to cause it were worth reading the whole book for. What surprised me was Lucy's reason for leaving the CIA and that Sage's father was a high ranking CIA official and she didn't know it. Lucy absolutely did to right thing in outing Sage's father.

Seems we have consensus that the Lucy/Sage storyline would have been more compelling.
