Brett’s presentation to potential investors goes awry when the message Allison put in his computer pops up on the screen. In a discussion with his backer, loan shark Fred Stiles, he threatens Allison as does Stiles and his guard Jud Bronsky. Why? Later, Allison’s apartment was trashed and her car run off the road. Of the many possible suspects, who was at the top of your list and why?

Xee (xeey) | 17 comments Brett. I thought he and stiles were behind the apartment and car respectively, though a prt of me wondered if Bale had finally snapped..

Anita (anitanodiva) | 2953 comments Brett and his cronies were at the top of my list for trashing Allison's apartment and running her off the road. There was not much to this book in the suspense department. All the other contenders for baddie were pretty weak.

Jessica | 156 comments By this point, I had pegged Brett as the culprit although an idea was still in my head that the Aunt and Uncle might try to get to her by scaring her.

Robin (robinmy) | 2450 comments Brett and Stiles were the only people I thought would trash Allison's apartment or force her off of the road. I couldn't see either her Aunt & Uncle or Bale doing this.

I agree with Anita. The contenders for being the villain was very weak in this book.

We're in agreement! When it comes to villains and whodunnit, this book is the weakest. The plot leans more toward the romance.

Sharon Kallenberger Marzola | 3474 comments I agree with all of you.
