I'm listening to No One Goes Alone by Erik Larson.

There's a creepiness but not quite about the story. A small group of various professionals are trying to decide if a missing family is due to paranormal or human or natural causes.

Our furnace broke down and there hasn't been any heat. We've had a fire going for 2 days and I am taking full advantage of listening to this particular ghost story huddle around the fireplace. I have to fight over the perfect spot with my daughter and the dog... that's why it's 2 in the morning and I'm still up.

(I apologize for any spelling or sentence errors. Sometimes my brain gets a little scrambled. I think I caught them all.)

How do you like the series? I've been back and forth with starting it. The only reason why is because I heard the first book had a difficult scene to read at the beginning, so I've been afraid.

I started reading Just the Nicest Couple. I honestly can't remember why I borrowed it from the library. I think it's for one of my reading challenges... I'll figure it out later.

I'm not sure I'm a fan. A husband goes missing, he may have been murdered. I'm almost half in and I'm only finishing it to find out the whodunit but I'm not hooked.

*update* I did not finish it. It has become a DNF (did not finish) or as I refer to them, a tombstone book.

I am almost finished listening to The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix. At first I thought it was hysterical and the characters were just perfect, but with 3 hours left- shit got real. It's not so funny now. I don't know what I think anymore.

I had my books planned out of what I wanted to read this month. I was so excited and then, like always, I come across a book that was not even on my radar. The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon has grabbed me. I am completely wrapped up in this world... the politics, the spies, the myths and legends, and oh man, dragons!!! What girl does not want a book with dragons? It's a hefty book, don't fall asleep with it over your face.
